The Gods.

So uhm, for anyone who plays in Alsius and read some context of the quests, are there signs of Alsirians believing in gods? In Ignis, the inhabitants believe in four gods. Sheaneth ~ A Panther. It's described as beautiful and mysterious. Whether it represents them, I don't know and it hasn't been mentioned. Junumar ~ A Hyena. This is probably the most known. This god seems to taunt. Described as "having the last laugh" and "laughing at you in battles". Reptieth ~ A Snake. The pun was nice. Not a lot has been mentioned except that is crawls around. Tirriket - A Beetle. Not a lot is known either. It has been also mentioned(If I understood well) that they all fought in the Volcanic Area in a 100 year war. The place has been changed as it is now. This is also mentioned in the 'Tal Nazzur', the holy book of Ignis. Now I'd assume that each god have their "chosen one". Also referred as their avatar. They re-incarnate and continue to protect. There are three and their alignment has not been mentioned(if there are any alignment at all). These are; Marlak - The Desert Marauder Alexia - Forest Guard (hence Alexia's Domains) Sigfrid - Border's Keeper {Haven't met this one yet.} You - People refer you through the quest as the "chosen one from the gods". Also mentioned again when you meet Marlak and Alexia. This is the most interesting piece I've read. All from one quest "Sacrifices". Now I find it strange as I do not recall any gods in Syrtis. Perhaps elven gods, (Gah I probably must do the quests again!) |
In alsius strenght, ancesters(emperors), glory and beer are important :p
We got thundermace, I dont know his story that well tho. There are also the numberous houses who made glory in the wars, also a crystall war (not just glory, if a house mistreated another they remember for generations xD) there are many NPCs in monts talking about the crystal war, but I cant find out what war that was and why it was fought speaking of wars, my favorite quest must be of siulas the winged wolf, here is his story :) (there even is a quest where you collect wolffurs to make a 'costume' for the festival of Siulas the winged wolf) siulas, the alsirian winged wolf Did you see the statue in the middle of the fountain when you first arrivedi n Montsognir? It is a glorious monument... but few know the true story behind its stoic presence. At first glance you may think that its a gargoyle.. or a flying reptile of sorts.. (uh no..) but its really a winged wolf.. its Siulas, the legendary winged wolf of Alsius... Although one does not exist.. many enemies of Alsius have seen teh wolf.. in fact.. they are the ones that gave it its very name. When we first came to Alsius the warriorrs were met with fierce opposition. Too many times we were pushed back by Syrtis and Ignis.. until the warriors were led by Emperor Gash himself. He brought out the ferocity of his soldiers.. and soon the wars became victories. When the enemy would march on the hills of Alsius, the warriors would run towards them.. and slaughter their enemies without mercy.. just as the wolf does.. Then, the survivors.. if there were any.. would tell their commanders what happend.. they would tell them that when Alsirian warriors would run down the snowy hills.. for a moment.. it would look like the warriors were a flying wolf.. wings spread.. teeth showing.. eyes ready.. So became the story of the winged wolf.. the face of Alsius. Truly a glorious and remarkable creature.. (also in alsius they say the ancesters must have sent you, but its pretty redicilous :p) EDIT: found the festival quest and its a bit different they celebrate the rebirth of ALsius and something about commemorating the day that Garm returned to ROlands to avenge his fathers's death. He also rebuilded the kingdom and restored its pride and glory. The only mention of Siulas is that he follows in battle and protects them |

I guess Dagmar has a talking problem :p |
The thing with fixing/creating a new story line is its complexity, as there are thousands of quests and bits of information spread all over NPCs. Still, the good thing about stories in games is that sometimes a little lack of coherence helps creating a mysterious aura around them. So please, write some lore even if you don't have all the facts as it would certainly be a nice addition to the game; and a good read.
If you end up writing some, I could translate it to Spanish (if you want). [kinda]OFF TOPIC: The background behind the 3 realms confrontation that the intro provided us with is and was essential to the game's story. A new intro, or a new low level quest to introduce us to why do we hate reds/greens/goats is much needed. |
I don't want a re-written lore. I want them to continue and be more in depth.
Look at RuneScape. It began with just three gods. Nothing else. They completely overhauled it and added more and more. Some may not like it, but it has one of the best lores and storylines in a game I've ever seen. Not that I'm expecting it to happen, but hey, you gotta do something when you're bored. (and can't get a date D: ) |
