Feminine walking and walking like you want to attract all men on world is a difference.
No normal women walks like that by nature. They do so to look sexy sometimes, but they can choose when to do so. Ingame characters cannot. Either they are walking in a sexy way or they are running.


You also have received a lot of requests from women asking for their female characters a more natural walk. It looks too sexy for them and they worry about men that could be attract by it.
So what about the feature to let the user choose which animation (s)he wants to have?

You don't have to proof anyone about the role of women in your county. And maybe she walks like that....but she is a person that have to do so because she lives in public and walking like that brings attention and symphatie from men. She wants this symphatie because she wants their votes. Not all ingame female characters want the symphatie and attenion from male players. It sucks when you are stalkered by other players just because you choosed to play a female character.
Also I doubt your president walks like that when she is allone at home.

Not sure you understand the culture of the US. Here, almost ANYTHING that gets people offended is removed from TV and web sites right away with profuse apologies.

It's the whole 'politically correct' movement thing.

This is especially true for things viewed as sexist/racist (feminists in the US have a loud and powerful voice). To me it's not a huge issue because you can just run, but honestly, the walk is definitely 'over the top' slutty. If i saw a girl walking like that in a club i'd assume she was out to "Get laid."

American women just plain don't walk like this, the ones that do are viewed as sluts/looking to score. So for an American, this walk is definitely very sexually suggestive.

BTW, playing a female character i will definitely verify what the girls in this thread said, many "boys" in MMO's will make suggestive comments if they think you're a girl. They also tend to give you stuff for free too. Haha.

I do not condone sexual harassment, it's just that the whole issue seems to me to have been blown completely out of proportion.

I'd estimate 90% of all female chars ingame are played by males, if a woman would get harassed she could just a) /ignore or b) send a screenshot to abuse@ngd

EDIT: I'll just add this after reading what chilko said, a woman walking in a sexy way happy with her body is a good thing imo. Banning that from all our lives, be it because of personal insecurities or puritanic values is sad to me. Being harassed for it is neither the womans nor the walks fault, but the fault of the male who cannot handle it in a grownup fashion.

Before the walk even was established, the female chars had very clinging garments that showed breasts and behinds, should i now complain to NGD that women ingame should wear some kind of bourka so these details do not lead to harassment?

The people doing the loudest complaining in this thread are women though. Not boys playing girls.

Women tend to over-react and get emotional about things. You may have noticed that in the females in your life over the years? One thing women really don't like is to be leered at.

This new highly suggestive walk will definitely encourage teen aged boys to do what they do best- act like dumbasses. ;)

Fortunately, there is no reason to use the walk feature in almost any case.
