I understand that the walk may induce harassment, or make female players feel being leered at.

I just wished they wouldn't make such a big fuss out of it beforehand and instead deal with any harassment when it occurs, since sadly enough there are boys who will leer at anything even remotely female.

Will removing the walk stop that? No.

There's simply no need to have the female characters walking around looking like sluts, encouraging harassing behavior.

So girls, run everywhere. :)

But certainly it will diminish the harassment to girls. Remember that 90% of the players in other MMOG's are boys because women don't feel attracted by the game. Hey, there are a lot of women, which means that if you don't hear their complaints you will lose a lot of clients!

I play with a female char, mostly because I receive free items from other horny teenagers and save a lot of gold and time, plus it's funny to see their faces once you tell them you're a boy. The first days it was interesting to see how other boys behaved in front of me (you really get to know what not to say to girl xD), but after a few days I had to use /ignore: it was virtually impossible to walk without getting chat requests. My char is a conjurer, which made the things worse. Far worse.

Will removing the walk make many female players more happy with design of their characters? Will removing the walk make many women not feeling hurt? Yes.

Of course, because women feel more hurt by it because it degrades them in some kind. I am sure most men actually like the way female characters are walking.

I know some males that can be very emotional in game. They yell around and tend to insult people that don't do what they want them to do....

I agree on both of this.

Problem with this new walking animation is that it is designed in a way how men want women to walk. That's why many women feel reduced to some kind of sex object.

I agree that the walking animation is a little overdone. I wouldn't call it slutty though.

It'd be fine if it were just toned down a little. Some flair in the movement makes it look more interesting, and I would still choose this over the old walking which looked a little awkward.

I think the sitting animation is actually worse, that looks like such an uncomfortable way to sit.

On topic: The new walk is over the top, it's too flashy for BOTH sexes. Pay attention to the male forward walk and you'll see.

I have no aesthetic issue with that though as I dont really care. It's really nothing compared to other MMOs. But if the women feel offended in any sort of way about this, it should be removed. Not because they are right (they could be, wouldnt know, im a dude), but purely for marketing reasons. The last thing you want is some cliche'd jazzed up feminist spamming other sites about how this game degrades them.

So lets put it this way. Lets imagine tomorrow NGD change the way male characters walk to MALE MODELS.

I explained before, I DO NOT LIKE IT. I wrote my reasons, and most women agree that is not heroic walking.
I think it is not a big deal and I will not stop playing over this. But I HOPE that there are not new features like "female heroic armors" that only cover two spots. Many "boys" would be asking for them, but it does not make it right.

To NGD Studios: I know that you must spent time on this new feature. I thank that you want to make female characters have feminine movements. I think the movements are better and more realistic. I understand that is not important to walk in the game.
But I do not like it, I do not feel comfortable about it, and I think it should be change.

Ok, seeing how people relates that walk with "sluts walk" its just too much.

I mean, did you ever saw an slut? They say "Hey i do whatever you want for 20 bucks" they do not just walk around moving like that.

There is tons of girls who move that way and of course they are not sluts, saying there is no girls who move like that its the same lie as saying all girls walk that way.

Of course this is a war game and things like this are unnecesary but i cant see how can anyone be offended because a girl is walking that way.

I agree that if the new walk was 'toned down' it would be ok. As it is now the hip swaying and boobie shaking is highly exaggerated.

As is, they walk like cheap whores.
