I like Edge's sig.

In the spanish forums the maximun lines per signature are 3.

They banned a lot of people for that and a lot of people complained about how they didnt do it in the english forums.

The bans were maximun 1 day but it was a holocaust in the spanish forums with half of them banned.

Both voting option don't suit me. I like creativity of Edge's sig

I had 3 "line feeds" (the "\n" or "enter" key), but I got banned. MegriM uses a low res monitor, so your sig shouldn't exceed the 3 lines in 1024~784 pixels wide.

My sig was legal, but only in a starndard res monitor (that's 1280x1024). That's insane, I know. Nobody uses less than 1280 wide, we live in the 21st century! O.o

What the hell do i have to do with your overly huge and obnoxious signature any way? It's not my fault that it offends others, and it's not my problem either...i don't have to look at it at all if i don't want to. There is an ignore feature. Perhaps if you don't like hearing my name so much, you should stop using it. And who said anything about banning you? Paranoid much?

If it's up to me, I would prefer long sigs. But as long as it is partially forbiden, It's not fair.

I have to agree with most of the people here: you must change it, but that doesen´t mean you have to forget about it, you can still make a sig that fits the rules but remains yours. You are creative enough, you can pull it off.

Make several accounts and split your sig like I did (???)

There is nor rule nor linit for signature. So no need to change it.
The only possible thing is if there are enough players who dont like size of his signature, to ask him to make it smaller. And still, his decision if he is going to change it or not. When they make such rule on English forums, AND announce it, then he should be banned if he didnt change or broke forum signature rule. That s how it works on any game forums.

In the future I would prefer a simple PM telling me if something bothers someone ;) But until now, I don't think a Signature hurt anyone.

Well its a maximum character to make a sig. So you can't say its big and it's not over rules to have a big signature.

The maximum number of lines available for a signature is 3. I believe Edge's sig looks like 3 so therefore it must be 3 :lighten:

Thats also why I keep it like I want. If a signature bothers NGD, they can lower the max characters or disable enlarging text.

I think the reason they added those rules was because they apparently annoyed MegriM, and the reason they haven't tackled the english part is quite clear I think, its the fact that the only moderator we see here is really Surak and occasionally niclam.

Hey, I m aware that Spanish forums have rules, mods, and all important things for running it smoothly. But here there are no rules, no mods, nothing, and that is giving possibility all to act how they want to.

That link is in Spanish, not in English. I dont understand it. Simple. No rule in English.

Problem is that NGD might didnt have enough time to translate it here, so we can only help them by translating those rules they made and demand sticky and NGD confirmation they are valid ones.

If I would know Spanish, I would gladly translate all that. And using any of online translator would be nonsense. So, Xeph, Jpicon, and other Spanish players with English knowledge, if you are able to help in translation, cool. If not, well, we can only wait for rules to be posted by NGD, and till then Edge is not in obligation by "law" to change signature .

I understand that game is Argentinian, but they accepted also English part of community as part of game community by making them forums too, so there must be then translated important rules and announcements that are applied on Spanish forums (if they treat us same way as them).

Example again Eternal Lands: I had signature 10 px more than allowed, and next day my sig was changed by mod:
deleted pic, and written: "Violation of Rule 26: too big signature" (or whatever it was), and link on part "Rule 26" to topic about rules. Simple and fair. But since we dont have mods here, we can only report to admins, and they can act then. Ofc, when we get Forum rules.

As the name "etiquette" says, it is something expected out of politeness and decency, for the good of all the users. You are free to choose not to follow these rules just like you are free to burp in public and pee on someone's car if you wish (the later might get you into more problems depending the jurisdiction of your country).

On top of that, as previously stated by Torg, there are rules in these very forums limiting signatures to be on 3 lines at max resolution 1024x768. The fact that the English forums aren't moderated yet doesn't mean these rules don't exist here too.

Here are described the rules to coexist in the forum. Those who not comply, will get a warning and then a ban in case of repeating it.

For those actions of bad behaivior not listed in this rules, moderators will take action on their behalf.

I know how hard can be when you have small dev team, who cant handle all in same time. Thats why community can help. (again, like in Eternal Lands, 3 people are developers, community is helping all the rest, if they want ofc).
