Hello everyone,

as we want to fix most of the issues with the release as son as possible we are going to use this thread to post on all the issues and problems you may find with the new version.

Please include in every post as much info on the problem as possible including your hardware specs (in every post)

The animation for normal mage attacks has vanished, and arcane missile still shows no missile, just the explosion at the end. The normal attack animation was fine on the new tech before today's update (arcane missile has been missing for a while though).

I have been using the 'new tech' for several weeks now, and in general, excelent job.

As of last night, 12/15, I no longer have most spell animations. While this doesn't hinder play, it doesn't look the same without them.

I've had this problem on Amun already.

When I play everything runs fine for a couple of minutes and then it freezes for 30 seconds to 1 minute and after that the graphics are completely messed up. Haven't made a screen yet.

I can confirm this too. Animations of normal mage staff shoot is missing. Ambitios Sacrifice, Regen Self(Ally), Divine Intervention animations missing too. This animations breaked in latest build before New Tech update.

Let me know if you need more info.

Problem: Alt-Enter makes everything become black. It seems like all graphics is still there, but it's black, since I can still see names if I hold V (and the names gets covered by black trees and players). See attached screenshot.

Problem: After some running (e.g. from Aggers save to Alsius Orc Camp) the ground suddenly disappears and you are able to see water far down. See this post.

I`ve got some problems with the new Client.
If I start the game in Direct3D i`ve got very Low FPS (about10) and massive lag so it is unplayable.

If I start in OpenGL I`ve got good FPS (about 60), but I can`t see armour painting(hair painting is visible), all buffs are white and the things which was named lightning fx is not visible (like the light on the altar).

3 things i noticed:

First: I can't change my regnum language

Second: There are animations in all characters that dont work
and kiss animation doesnt work too

third: the text sometimes disspaears (above ur head.. it might disaapear if u turn the camera)

Text on characters heads 'flicks' near the top, every second or so it loses the top few pixles cutting off the top of tall letters and capitals, also happens with clan tags.

I got Picking Ivy animations stuck on me after i ressurected on Central Save. Was killed in Pinos. Sky and water look weird.

Basically all particle effects are missing... no smoke from chimneys, no spells animations using them, no flame on top of the save, etc

Confirmed. It also happens when you change resolution in game.

Confirmed as well (at samal save). Whats more when i reloged to see if it would go away night came and i see even less now (see attachment).

mmm... what is your OS?
can you please press ALT + ENTER to go into windowed mode and see if that fixes the problem?

Particle effects FIX
 
We are uploading a hotfix right now that fixes problems with particle effects in OpenGL

please note that we have disables particle effects from intel graphics cards as it was not working properly, we hope to fix that other problem as soon as we can.

my experience on linux under "currently downloading the windows version"

Hair color change i payed for and used lastday
dont work for my beard anymore.
others lots of grapic glitches like the terrain disapear.
skycolor changes to lightgray and black.
and that i have to play on shader 2.o
with mutch reduced grapics as result vs the old client.
Also View Distance on for example walls around the tower in Birka
is way to short vs the old client now they popup 20 meters a head
and that dont look so nice or give a smooth gameplay in my eyes.

For me the "new" client makes this game simply to look uggly
vs how it was when i first found it on the oldclient.

A small update regarding the sudden black screen mentioned in this post:

If I lower Post Process Quality in-game (it was on max before) it's no longer black. But the problem still exists - except that it gets black randomly now.

Same issues here, the disappearing ground is very annoying, especially since all creatures disappear too (as well as my character).
It started near water (PP bridge, near lake, etc.). No way to fix it (i need to relog).
It occured with shader 3 and 4.

Other issues:
- sky contains either white dots or dark dots, or is black with shader 2
- select indicator under mobs (red circle) appears above feet (color is applied to mobs feet, so they are red).
- shadows activation cost a lot in frames per second (divide by 2)
- particles don't show

Still many problems with all Intel graphic adapters (exact models see title).... low performance, graphic bugs .... still not really playable.

This wasnt ready yet.
Animations are too big and shiny. Just animation of Heal totally hides character, shining like xmas tree and I cannot see anything behind effect. Same with some other spells.
Also, first time since I play Regnum, i m forced to use Safe mode (I posted already about dancing textures and made video but it isnt fixed, so I cant use normal mode).

Overall from technical side, it has potential, but still needs big work on it.

There are still ways to fall through fort wall. I managed to do it on Pinos and reproduce it. Some animations cut like a knife on fort wall. Screens attached.

The game is unplayable for me. First screen shader 3 and 4, second screen shader 2 and safe mode. Ok, I can play a bit with shader 3/4, but it isn't fun, actually, I attack/run 5-10% slower.

ok, the hairs i payed for changed color! that's not good. Animations are like in safe mode while im not using safe mode. That's not good. Water effect changed. It looks good.
I have not lag, but sometimes freezes.

conclusion, i prefer the oldest client. :thumb_down:

We have computers with lower specs than yours to work here at our office. you must update your drivers or something its impossible that you are getting such low FPS

I know that I should have better fps :/ (edit: and I don't really care about fps, slower animations are far more annoying ;P)

But the drivers are updated... I think there's some very strange problem with my computer, but most games aren't affected. And just the new engine is affected, I never had problems like that with the old engine. (Just a small cpu drop in safe mode, ~90%)

edit: I've got a similar problem in guild wars, but not in any other game I think...

another edit: That problem in guild wars wasn't always there, one day I logged in and it was there, somehow, I didn't change anything in my computer, at least nothing I can remember.
I don't know what to do :/ (I don't really care about guild wars... but I care about regnum ;P)

When using Shader 2.0 I have no "flames" on binds and teleporters, can't see many spell animations but have FPS around 35-55. Although on Char Choice, I only see the head of the chars, I've allready been online with. Chars in "underwear" are completly shown.
Is it possible to imply the "lighteffects" button again under 2.0?

On Shader 3.0 the lighteffects are there, but my FPS are around 10. All chars are shown correctly in the Choice.

The world is black! Here I stand at Algaros save and I can the hud, people's text and names, but nothing else. It just happened randomly, at first everything looked *Excellent* (thank you!).

I have all video settings on maximum, including bloom filters and anisotropy filters and whatever. I saw this happen before you made the final release (and back then I didn't have these effects on max). If I login again, things are ok.

p.s., the world is lovely in the new engine! but Sanctuary seems to not look as pretty anymore

Invisible players, broken casting, weird visual bugs with MOD caution frenzy Accurate Swings unstopable

and some enemy spells tend to blind me on screens :P

I voted for Crashes being the biggest issue. Performance has not been an issue for me for weeks.

In addition to crashes, my biggest seemingly randomly recurring issue is terrain draw. Occasionally the terrain will stop drawing leaving me in blackness or some other odd situation like just now where the terrain within a certain distance wouldn't draw, but beyond that distance drew just fine.

I am consistently crashing. Just now I crashed twice in a matter of about 5 minutes. First was immediately after dying, second was random as I was running around. I can't play like this, graphics and performance don't matter if it's unstable.

So far I have only crashed on logging in. I have not actually be able to get onto the game yet. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it. Will try it again over night and see if magic happpens and it lets me through.

(update) After I posted this I gave it another try and got past the opening screens. After selecting my character it loaded for about 30 minutes then chrashed. So I gave it one more shot. It again let me select a character then embarked on a long slow loading screen so I went to bed. I woke up and apparenly I made it (no idea how long it took) but I had been disconnected at some point as well.

(Update 2)This morning I was able to get on. The animations were a little strange and I am downloading quite often. I experienced a few lag spikes. But I also walked into Fisgeal and didn't automatically freeze.

My biggest problem with new technology is that you have improved the looks but not the balance (between classes as wells as between realms).

Other than that, arcane missile animation is broken.
