Left handedness..

I know a random thread..but i watched something last night that got me thinking..that England has 4 million left handed persons, both my children are left handed..and that also being left handed is genetic. Now..both fathers to my children are both right-handed..and im right handed..However even though im right handed..i use my left hand alot to carry out tasks(clean thoughts here by the way) i.e..i throw a ball better with my left, i deal cards with my left..etc. So i asked my children to try and write their name with their right hand, the result..it was very unreadable, then i had a go of writing with my left hand..the result..i can write with my left hand !!!! Its no where near as neat as my right, but with practice im pretty sure it would get better. So what im asking is this..what does this mean ?? I mean did i learn to write left handed as a child, then i simply switched..or maybe i was learnt not to be a leftie by my teachers ?? Or am i just ambidextrous ???

Does anyone have any explanations ? :D

So you're a left-hander, because you make extensive use of your left hand, even if you don't use it for writing.

I'm a left hander too. I was forced to use my right hand to control the mouse and some other things, but fortunately I could go back to my left hand. Nowadays, I still use the mouse on the right hand, but I control the trackpad on my laptops with the left :P

Definitely, you're left hander or ambidextrous (more probably a left hander). It may be that your teachers forced you to use your right hand.

I'm intrigued about it being genetic... There's only one left hander in my family, and it's me. The grandfather of my grandmother was a lefty, and I kinda look like him.

i'm ambidextrous. i can write as good as with my left hand as with my right hand, and evenly do all stuff with both hands.

That's the way I have to write... Did you notice that right is phonetically similar to write? xD

Wait, are you a left hander too? I'm starting to think that we really are clones.

Yup, i told you long ago :p

Also, in the blackboard i write with my right hand, but if i do that in paper the result is horrible.

Three of my high school teachers are left handed, and they never use the blackboard (unless they really need it). It's a pain in the back to write in a blackboard... Actually, one of my Tech. teachers (Business Systems and Admin. teacher) uses a computer and a projector to show slides, so he doesn't have to write things in class. Yeah, lazy guy, but practical.
