Well put....

I giggle at the post from Chiko where they said hunter's aren't supposed to be assasins. Then give us some useful skills that assist in battle. The only tools we have that awards us RP in a group situation are our basic attacks and Stalker. We receive no reward for tracking nor do we have any useful auras. Additionally, in order for us to have a useful area we have level tricks, long bow, or short bow to 19.

Cmon NGD...get real. If you take something away (dual shot) then give us something to make us useful in return.

Yeah I saw that in his post also.

- Hunter never meant assassins, they are not meant to hunt other players. They are called hunters because they have special tracking skills and can hunt and tame creatures.
How the hell are we supposed to be helpful when we barely get any rewards in war? Unless we give up alot of useful hunting skills for something else... :S

Did I mention pets basically die to fast in war? He mentions pet are useful in war, but i don't see that imo.

We don't get RP from tracking enemies, We have 2 useless skills imo (Track ally and track monsters) which basically no one uses and there usefulness is crap.

Hunters need changes that can help the class be more efficient, but I don't agree with Chilko or NGD's vision about Hunters, give us something useful ngd that will help us in return and we can get rewards from if you want us to participate in your precious RvR combat fort/castle wars.

As of right now the only and best way of getting RP's and helping keeping your warzone side of the realm safe or slow down your enemies levelling is by going Hunting, is the only possible way for us to get a reward and at the same time feel like your helping the realm.

Yes, Hunters are useful in war but only for tracking and to camo coarpse, no rewards from none of those unless you do stalker every now and then, not that useful...

I will post more later.

Thanks.

If a Hunter is ment to be a scout maybe they could have a spell allowing them to "listen in" on enemy chatter for a while, Maybe by opening a new Tab, that they cant type in, which shows the enemys chat, leveling this spell could increase the duration the tab stays open and the % of the words you see.

I just don't see hunters usefullness in the war'ing effort unless they get a major overhaul. I'd like to see one of the NGD Devs take my character....go to a fort...and keep pet alive for more than 2 minutes.

GL with that...

If you set your pet to follow mode and let it attack only when it's useful, ie don't let your pet run to the gate. Like that you can "save" the pet for charging barbs to provide a little more distraction.

It's neither the perfect solution nor will give you a lot of rps, but I thikn the pet is more useful like that.

Using your pet as a "distraction in a fort war is not really that useful. Is basically useless to try and use a pet in war because of the points i mentioned below.

Pets need more useful abilities, like using unique powers like they do when they are a regular mob, probably have more defense, etc.

Problems with pets in war or in general are:

1) They die in 2-3 hits (Least in wars)
2) Pets have no powers (but have powers if they are a regular mob)
3) Their defense against lower lvl players is a joke.

Basically we are not build for fort wars, and if ngd are planning to make us more useful in war they can start by adding skills that can actually award us RP's (Even if RP dont mean anything to some or all players) we need skills that will motivate hunters to go to war if we wanted to.

Pleeeeeease DMC, I beg you, PLEASE change the record.

Adding 2 seconds more to the cooldown will not ruin hunters or marks.

Shield Pierce is 7s, Forceful Blow and Gutting are 8s, Charge is 7s. Sure it might be annoying, but it really isn't the end of the world. With 5s cooldown, hunters can output alot of DPS, this evens the playing field alittle.

Yawney 07-04-2009 07:43 PM

Hello? I've never said pet is useful. Pets in fort wars suck, I know it and I'm not gonna argue about that. I only shared the way I'm using my pet in fort wars. If you don't like it, don't use it.

And yes it doesn't take a lot of braining to see that pet dies in 2 hits.

This applies only to PvP in my opinion.

What do you mean? 5s is only a good way to putput DPS in pvp? I thought hunters were nearly 100% pvp? As in 1 on 1 encounters.
