I would like to pay to play regnum...
 

... because i think that it would provide higher quality of game, higher quality of service and will bring more responsibility from developers to this project.

Introducing premium accounts with keeping free accounts would bring better service and will cut complaints of people that want better service / balance / game, but still don't want to pay.

Now we have situation that people pay for premium items, but game is not getting better, service is not getting better, there is no roadmap etc...

Personally, i would like to see paying for regnum only once, or subscription for one year, not like subscription for one month.

This way developers would be forced to improve their project instead of occasional improvements and ximerin discounts every while.

I was motivated to post this because I really think that regnum has perfect concept, and with some additional work, it would grow to best game ever.
But, without bucks, there is no Buck Rogers, as they told once in a movie.

P2P games do probably make more money, but as if there are a lot of people who cant pay for Regnum even if they wanted to (pay-pal restrictions etc) and more that could pay but dont want to. So a move to P2P would cut the player base drastically, prehaps to a point it wouldent recover from.

Prehaps the player base would slowly grow again, but for a P2P game potential players need to be firstly impressed by the game (lots of low end review around for RO) feel they are getting value for their money in terms of quality (gameplay, graphicsm sound etc) and have a strong first impression from the game, if a potential P2P'er gets in game after handing his cash over and finds it all but deserted he probably wont be coming back.

This might potentially work as a 'premium server' seperate from the current servers. With infinate access to Xim items, and other perks. So long as the F2P game remains playable and dosnt get cut from any major content.

actually theres an alternative:

maybe ngd could produce a dvd with the installs for both platforms (windows & Linux and in the future mac)

They could also on the dvd give a voucher for a reasonable amount on xim ie (enough for a scroll of mastery)

That way they get more income, people could get premium from the start, the install would be a lot faster as well

Totally agree :ohill:, but I repeat, I think this is because they are lack of personal, the actual devs and admins are making a good job.

I like that idea, like lotro, where you can pay about u$s200 only once, and you have a "for life" account.


And with the rest ( without colour) I agree too. I have no problem, if the game becomes payable, I will pay, if that helps ngd...

Another idea:

NGD could create a new international server different than RA but with the "pay to play" system. This server should provide a higher quality experience ... I don't know ... something like that ... just an idea ...

They cant provide quality support for people who pay now!!
I cant imagine the anger and fury upon them if there would be a regular monthly, yearly fee. For example..my Stash is not working for months!!!
And I have bought priemium content and still have some Xymerin on my account. I posted on forum...twice! Nothing. If I imagene that I would be paying monthly for something that doesnt work, thats crazy.
An you are trying to do it completely wrong. WE should pay to get better support etc. NO! There allready has to be high quality support which would make you pay! Thats how it works. Fisrt you invest then collect the effort.
Players should be in no way investors!

I dont see the point of this. Providing two games, one with a high quality experience and wone without? its the same game. what would be the purpose of improving on one only and not changing the other server. the problem is making the improvements and not implementing them on separate servers.
