Petition for realm transfers
After a long time, NGD finally added transfers to the game. However, there is a problem: Many of us chose a different realm when we went to Horus, leaving us unable to move any of our characters from RA. For example, my characters are in Syrtis on RA, not Alsius.
Transfering them to Syrtis in Horus is something I wouldn't be caught dead doing for obvious reasons. :p Likewise, new players will eventually wish to transfer realms if they find that the realm they picked wasn't the one they wanted, or if they've done something they didn't wish to do, such as joined the overpopulated realm, as not much information is provided on them ahead of time. Please vote for NGD to consider realm transfers as a feature (time and resources willing). Kind regards. |
Would be cool, though the process might be difficult. For example your appearance and stats would change cause you can't be a wood elf in alsius :P
If they can iron all these kinds of details out, I think it would be awesome. |

Appearance change can be handled by giving a free plastic surgery scroll. |
I believe NGD has said that realm transfers will never be available.

No realm transfers whatsoever, ever.

Please don't place your vote based upon what chilko or anyone else has said, if you do that then they will never change their minds, ever. The entire purpose of the petition is to show them that it is something that would be beneficial to players even if they don't feel as such. It would also make NGD quite a bit of money, since it is a fairly common occurence, which is ultimately the entire goal of premium. And imbalances in the design can be mitigated with careful planning e.g only allowing someone to do it once a year, or once ever. Support problems relating to this can also be mitigated by clearly marking that players must read a terms of use before using the relevant item(s). It's like saying 'NGD won't ever change anything in updates so we should never talk about them'. It's a loser's game, period. Kind regards. |

Its bad idea. In many ways. If we are talking socially, I think it would cause drama between people like never before, realm switching already does that, transfers would be worse. If we are talking in a die hard REGNUM IS LIFE way, you should work hard to defend the realm you want to, not switching and not having to work to earn your place. If we are talking logically, it will get abused to the point where it ruins the game. Drama queens who switch realms because someone doesn't agree with them is an example of the abuse that would ensue. I do see however the good points too it, but again, the abuse of it would be massive. Maybe the option to switch realms should only be given to those who transfer to Horus, and are only allowed to switch once. Just a thought |

It would also help with people abandoning accounts, rather than letting them sit and decay in NDG's database they can be sent to the realm a person wants to be. There's lots of wins to this, little losses and I bet a few difficulties implementing it but it would be beneficial to the game overall. |
I see two parts in the original suggestion. The first being transfers from RA being stuck in the realm they played there even though they play a different realm on Horus. I think that when transfering from servers you should have a choice when it comes to realm selection. There are going to be issues but those can be worked on as mentioned.
On the other hand, im not so sure if inter-server realm transfers are such a good idea. But in these days people are illegally doing it anyway, why not make it a paid for feature. things like name changes, RP wipes, making the transfered gear untradeble, and monthly limits to transfering could make this work. |
I can imagine that realm transfers would be sort of difficult to implement, but it also seems like a new source of cash for the powers-that-be.
