Is there a way to download all the game no inside the game ?

when I'm trying to download the game (download all resources at once) it quits in the middle.
I would like to download the game from ftp/http , is there a way to do it ?

No, unfortunately not. But you could ask someone to send his/her regnum directory to you.

Personally I'd just let the game download as it goes, it only is annoying the first time around.

There probably is some kind of way to get the resources (because they *are* on the server somewhere) but I don't know how to.

Yes there is, when you log on while the game is verifying click options, check the box download all game files, wait an hour or 2 for the 400 something set of every game file to download, optional, adjust graphics setting.

I'm surprised I hae to keep explaining these things to ppl who otherwise seem to know the game inside and out.

Must be the lack of gamining on linux, tho there are a decent amount of good shooters for linux.

Actually I knew this way already as I've already said, I mean download the content by http/ftp protocols, because if I try to download it in-game (before it starts like you said, click download everything) it quits in the middle.

ah, when I read it half asleep last night I thought you meant downloading it while in play as you encountered it.

ATI cards have shit drivers for anything but OS X, and then only if the card came stock, cause Apple writes those drivers. From your description of your hardware you have AGP graphics right? Try a newer card from nvidia, like the 6800XT or 7600GS or the faster 7600GT series cards or at the top end the 7800GS, which some concider a bit overpriced for the speed gains over the 7600GT, but theres also the 7900GS and 7950GT at the very top end for AGP. All of these cards should also support OpenGL 2.0 tho.

Most everyone demanding high end graphics has moved to PCIe graphics card slots these days as full 16x PCIe gives much more to the card then AGP 8x could.

Make sure you get the AGP version, not the PCIe version of those cards tho, they're slot incompatible.

The first time I installed the game I downloaded the windows version and installed it with wine, that created most of the files, then I copied all the .sdb and .idx files to another directory and unistalled the wine game. After that I downloaded rolauncher in the same directory with the .sdb and .idx. Then used a console to start the game and voila! most of the game is already installed. I think that's what you need.
