AS calculations
 

Hi all,

Hope everyone's good. I've been trying a AS set up for SB, however its not working quite as I thought it would. Could anyone feedback re the following:

So, my total AS (Rapid shot, ROLs, Gem & kit boosts) = 45%
CB=6 seconds
Fast bow=1 hit per 1.5 seconds
Fast bow & AS max = 1.5*(1-0.45)=0.825

So, in theory I should be able to get 7 hits during CB duration (6/0.825=7.27)

However, I only manage 4 or very rarely 5.

Am I missing something, could it be lag, or have I completely forgotten my maths?

For Fast Bow, is 1,55 second per hit, so the attack speed is 1/(1,55) hit per sec(like km/h). So if you have +45% attack speed, yoour new attack speed is (1+0.45)/1.55=29/31 hit per sec, so now you have 31/29 second per hit.
For 6 sec you have to make 6/(31/29)=5.61, so you make 5 hits in 6 sec.

AS (& CS) are NOT reductions of time anymore, but ARE additions to speed.

It's NOT 100% - your 45% = 55% of normal attack speed.

It IS 100% + your 45% = 145% faster weapon attack speed.

6sec / 1.55 per attack = 3.87 attacks.

6sec / 1.0689654 per attack = 5.6129 attacks.

Thus, with your +45% (almost 1/2 again faster), you do ALMOST 3 attacks in the SAME amount of time you'd normally do 2 attacks if you had no AS bonuses at all.

Thanks both, that's much clearer now. I need to rethink my current strategy on this basis and might have some more questions later.

for bows, as:
Fast = 1hit per 1.5 s
Medium = 1 hit per 1.75 s
Slow = 1 hit per 2 s

This seems to be outdated, so does anyone know the current as?

fast = 1 hit per 1.55s
medium = ?
slow = ?

thoughts?

Attack speed on weapons was only ever changed once, and hasn't been modified since. The animations make it look skewed, though.
