I too like the guards at the saves, but are they much, much stronger than regular guards? If not, a strong and able group will be quite able in killing them. You could go so far as to make them invincible and could use devastating area attacks. Wil turn everyone right off going near the saves
If they aren't invincible, I hope no one gets RP or XP or items from killing them.
P.S. It's been a while since I've been on the game, so I probably sound a bit naieve in this post
