I'm not sure, but I think acc. sharing wasn't always illegal. Maybe it wasn't back then.
So, what has changed:
- new maxlvl, as you have surely have noticed, is 60. Old lvl 50 equals new ~lvl56 in grind duration. Play in war for a while before grinding, to see whether the game is still worth investing that much time. Sometimes there are boosts on exp, loot and/or gold gain, ranging from 50 to 200%.
- as a barb, you won't be very effective against higher lvl (55/60) barbs. Difference of dmg/armor is too big.
- new dual wield weapons have higher dps than old 2h weapons, mostly. At higher levels (58+) this differs with boni on said weapons and socketed gems (2h hammer is good too).
- you can try asking for your old items back via support if you have screenshots of it, but due to how you lost them it is probably not advisable. Not worth it unless it was boss gear or magna weapons.
- archer dmg is ~50% slash now, so you need better resists against slash (and pierce, like before).
- armor system now favors original looks. Try to target bland looking characters.
- dragons and invasion system have been overhauled. Alasthor now wears a skirt and demands to be called Susan.
