I am having a similar problem with RA on Linux
Horus and Amun are no problem, but RA just hangs at 77 of 78 sources.
Tried to reinstall 2 times, no effect.
Also no firewall firewall problems, my GFX card (Nvidia 7800 GTX) is not a problem either, my CPU's (dual Opteron 2800) are ok, my RAM (8192 MiB) should not be a problem either and my I-net connection
cannot be a problem (100Mbit full duplex).
*EDIT* Update all data at once hangs at 1422 of 1423 sources.
Is there a solution for this problem?
If I use strace -f ./rolauncher I get thousands (if not tens of thousands) of lines.
I ran RO yesterday with it and went for dinner and after about half an hour it was still running, creating hundreds of lines a minutes

Strangely I just (re-)tried this and I can access all servers again, even though it did not work before.
Nevertheless me is happy to be
on RA again.
