My two cents on the whole issue...

There are a lot of people that have noticed that the problem with leveling with boosters is it requires far fewer mobs to level up. Subsequently, people who level with boosters generally find fewer drops and have a bit less money than those that do it for free. While the repair hammers do effectively cover the money lost by warriors that use XP scrolls (much less so for mages and especially archers), the only option to make up for the possibility of receiving beneficial drops is the lucky boxes.

As such, my issue is not with the quality of the items received from using the lucky boxes, but with the fact that they cannot be sold for gold and the overall cost of the lucky boxes themselves.

Now I know, I know...everyone is going to start posting all the "craptic" items they've gotten from lucky boxes, but before you do, lets think about this for a minute. How many powerful, usable items (and by that, I mean high level, specific to your subclass, and relevant to the way you play your character) have you gotten from drops? I know for myself, I can count the number on one hand in the entire time that I have played this game, and that is across all of my characters. Partly, I imagine that this may be because once I get to 50, the only time I kill mobs is when I have necrostacy or they interfere with combat. But this can only account for so much. That means, almost the entirety of gear that I have comes from generous players, and I am positive that for many of you, this is the same.

Given that the items dropped by mobs AND the items from lucky boxes are for the most part, crap, I think the amount of complaints about lucky box item quality are a bit excessive. But then again, this may also be due to the fact that NGD changed the random item generator to increase the chances of less favorable stat bonuses (+1% resistance to slashing, anyone?) at the same time they implemented lucky boxes.

Now, about the price of the lucky boxes...

This is a bit more difficult to balance. If the price of lucky boxes is decreased, then the balance will tend to swing towards premium users who have used boosters to level. However, if the price is increased, remains the same, then balance obviously favors those that have not leveled with boosters. At the moment, in my opinion, the price of platinum and (especially) gold lucky boxes is far too high. But then again, how many hours of grinding does it take to yield an item that is decent and how does this compare to the number of XP scrolls used in that period of time?

A bit off topic 1:
I seriously hope that NGD doesn't change the current loot system to increase the chance of getting "decent" items. I know everyone is going to hate me for saying this, but the fact is, I've already done a lot of leveling, and to toss a proverbial bone to all those that are leveling up their characters now would certainly leave those of us out that are, for the most part, done with PvE in Regnum. It would essentially be the same (or maybe even bigger) as when item rewards were added to quests when players have already completed said quests, thus giving them no way to receive the reward.

A bit off topic 2:
I GREATLY appreciate NGD's responsiveness in the english forums lately. Way to go guys!

Edit: Sorry about the long post, but as this greatly effects not just premium users, but the balance of all items in general, I think it is important that we all think about this issue very seriously.
