I agree, its to the point where its taking back aggers or trelle or imp is only duty now and something that must be done, and not something that is fun. Fort wars with few VS zerg are just not fun, ive grown rather bored of them. I never thought for an instant that i would ever start a hunter in this game, but i have; i still want to play, but i just get no joy at all out of fort wars anymore. Open field is still fun sometimes, but it all comes down to numbers.
People will cry about not being able to pick Syrtis, but its the fastest, easiest solution. Transitory bonuses are not enough to deter people from going to the populated realm, and more tangible bonuses such as MAG (which IM NOT SUGGESTING), dont mean anything at all to new players. The problem is not to make an undermanned realm op, so the only REAL bonuses that you can offer are intangible ones, XP or GP boost, possibly some minor noob special quest weapon at level 15 or 20 (Low enough to attract people to it, and also low enough to not be imba in WZ).
Any way you cut it, its a shitty situation, and the fastest most efficient solution (blocking people from starting in Syrtis) is also shitty. Sadly though, we are getting to the point where its really just getting to be not fun, at all. Who wants to be on either side of a zerg vs handful battle? I dont, there is no challenge when you are zerg, and there is only frustration when you are the handful.
+1 For sure about an invite code to let your friends join you in the realm of your choice. An invite email maybe would be the best way, as a code can be prone to abuse from people that want to bypass strictures put in place to keep balance (Assuming something like this becomes reality).
