If mounts for gold were reintroduced now, there would probably be many players who bought one for Xim who would be pissed off.
Perhaps make the light mount rentable with gold again, make the warhorse and chicken/raptor/"thing-from-Hoth-in-Star-Wars-films" faster than the light horse, and keep them premium. ATM the price for a valkin is a bit steep considering the only extra thing you get over a light horse is a warcry, and you get that on a warhorse too.
