AMD Turion 64 X2 / 4GB RAM / ATI Radeon HD 3100 (using Catalyst 9.6 driver) / 64-bit Gentoo Linux
I used this client throughout Syrtis invasion attempts on Alsius this morning. I didn't crash even once in several hours of play, and for the first time I was able to fight at a realm gate without slideshow level FPS. Great work in making the game feel more fluid!
There was one case where client became unresponsive for several minutes. I died at Imperia, in a fight involving 30+ players, and countdown to rez froze, graphics froze, but I could still hear sound effects of fighting. Eventually the client unfroze when most of the people around me were dead and I was able to resurrect.
These are the problems I encountered (most of them have already been reported in this thread):
- Dead enemies are shown with health left in their health bar. In one extreme case, character appeared with full health even when dead! Sometimes dead characters even appear to be standing, and sometimes dead allies are included in display while pressing V. It's confusing because you have to click on someone to find out if they're dead for sure.
- In safe mode, many animations are too bright (e.g. Mind Push, Twister, Energy Barrier) or too psychedelic (e.g. Manouver). It's a problem because the shiny graphics obscure the battlefield.
- In safe mode, Strategic Position animation is shown upside down. The animation is correct in shader model 2.0 and above.
- In safe mode, the small numbers that show regenerating health keep changing color. Here is a screenshot with greater healing numbers showing white, a few seconds later they were red, which confusingly made it look like a damaging effect. Also notice that the numbers are visible through the fort door in this image.
- Characters also keep changing hair color.
- Letters are sometimes rendered as unreadable blocks. This problem is temporary and I can make it go away by changing the view to exclude the corrupted text.
- Using shader model 4.0, animation of Ambitious Sacrifice is not visible. The animation is visible in safe mode.
Some existing issues also remain:
- Animations of spells cast outside visual range don't appear.
- Animations occasionally get stuck on the character.
- Knocked-down characters appear standing and show Stun animation.
- Imperia gives more lag than any other fort in the game.
