Default Regarding using different sections of armour...

Does anyone know how the resistances end up working?

Do they average out, do you get the worst of all, the best of all. When your hit does it actually work out which body part was hit and use the appropriate resistances to that location?

If anybody could shed any light on this I'd be very grateful.

That was interesting to read, but *unless I missed something* it didn't explain the effects of mixing different resistances, and how they are either averaged, or superceed or cancel out each other.

Still, thanks for the link.

as far as i know every resistance apply on the part it is on and the overall is the sum of all parts armor modified

example :
A : gauntlet armor 100 and verybad against slashing (then 70 against slashing)
B : pauldron armor 200 good against slashing (then 230)

A+B will result in 230 + 70 = 300 armor against slashing

I pretty much thought that's how it is as well. Apart from Uthars who can't wear helmets, I sometimes shake my head at some folks who choose to forgo their helmets so they can show off their hairstyle in the battlefield or those who leave off their pauldrons to show off their biceps :P

I know! I mean, like I'm totally vain and have cute little bunches, but even *I* put my helmet on in the war zone...

Pfff you guys know nothing . Style matters most and doesn't prevent us from owning our enemies... I never wear a hat they're too ugly, sometimes a lv 15 turban if I wanna be incognito . It really doesn't change much, and I'm not sure wakim's formula is right, I think there is a modifier which make that a hat & a breastplate of the same armor set won't give the same armor points; the hat will give less.

I suppose it depends on your class, I loose a *huge* chunk of armour points wearing no helmet. In your defence mages do have it worst with really bad hats and robes every few levels, one of our conjurer's Kuroihitomi gets anxious every time she levels and goes to the tailor...

Here is how the armor works.

For knights 1.4x (Value of protection)
For All the Rest 1.0x (Value of protection)

The different types of protection:

Very Good = +30%
Good = +15%
Normal = 0%
Bad = -15%
Very Bad = -30%

The different areas of protection:

Head = 24%
Body = 28%
Legs = 20%
Arms = 16%
Hands = 12%
Shield = 25%
