Default [Horus] I miss Ignis :(

Howdy there,
I have never been in Ignis, but I know some nice Ignis players via IRC, and I'm sure that most of Ignis players are nice guys like them.
I'm playing since less than 1 year, and I'm in WZ since a while, and really when I say that I miss Ignis, I mean that now Ignis became a silly and lazy realm.

I remember there's not so many times ago, Ignis was the realm terrorizing the WZ (even if Syrtis virtually outnumbered), invading every night, zerging everytime and everywhere... The battles with them were epic and really fun...
But now... Ignis became a silly realm...
Now, when they have gems to protect, and when they see Syrtis taking a fort, they maybe try 2-3 rushes, then they all camp shaanarid, even if 99% of the time we just want battle and not invade...
And even if they have no gems like now, we could think that they would stop camping shaanarid and fight... of course, not... they don't even come to fight, and wait until we get bored and go away in order to retake the fort...
Where is gone this proud realm of hard fighters ?...

When we tried to invade alsius, Ignis was here of course, backstabbing us and helping Alsius... I have really nothing against helping x/y realm but what is shocking me is that Ignis is helping... I expected Ignis to, for example backstab us when door was at 10% and then break it... but no... they just helped Alsius, and then went to camp bridges with Alsius...
Also they tried to put our gates in danger several times while we were messing up with Alsius...
Like I said, I have nothing against helping a realm, but I just find this really surprising from Ignis, this proud realm was so proud to be against everyone, now they ally and backstab like pussies, refuse to face us and prefer taking empty forts in our back...

Yes I know... Syrtis is overpopulated, they zerg all the day, and I know that it's easy for me to say this when I am in the overpopulated realm... Yes I know that sometimes you can do nothing against us because we are too many...
But now you are refusing to fight against us, you are not even trying to regroup and fight... instead you go camp shaanarid, you backstab or you take empty forts/castes on our back.
And even if we outnumber, is it a reason to hide and ignore us ? I don't think so. See Alsius, they have near your numbers, but they fight, they don't camp their castle when 3 of their rushes failed, they try, and finally they manage to win... Sometimes they finish leave the battle too, but really after hours of battle, and when they really realise that it's impossible (for now)...

I don't think it's a coincidence that Alsius is growing super fast and is not the underpopulated realm anymore, while Ignis is becoming underpopulated... I don't think that it's because ice is nicer-looking than dust but because Alsius is a realm of fighters, they defend their realm and fight and retry even if they are outnumbered while Ignis don't try anymore and go camp shaanarid or ignore like loosers.
By doing this, you are just showing that you are a realm of wet chickens, and I don't really think that it promotes you very well...

Really I miss the old Ignis.

Regards,
(Sorry for the bad english)

Hey,

I do understand some of your points but,

Personally, I am from Ignis and I can say this:

1) We are not as active as we used to be because of possible reasons:

- School can play a big factor in this, as well as jobs.

In the summer time you used to see us alot more active then now, right?

- Or most players dont play as they used to because of updates or they just lost the fun for the game, I personally know some that did.

I am pretty sure most of us still go to school and/or have jobs, I know my clan does.

- Timezone can play a big part in this, in the summer time we basically were alot because of this reason most likely, we are growing slowly and more new faces into warzone lately from all realms, so thats a good thing.

2) I don't consider that backstabbing or helping Alsius, we simply did not want you to break their gates or take that gem, its a RvRvR game, we considered that a tactical plan.

Also, if we want to attack your Realm when your attacking Alsius, its probably for a reason and not to help Alsius, its to help us, I am sure every Realm works for their benefit and not the benefits of others.

I do miss that strong Ignis I used to see during the summer, maybe we will rise again ^^

My honest opinion.

I understand what you mean, many of the people of ignis are cowards nowadays. That is something that i dont like to admit but it is true. The reason many people give up after a few rushes is because that usually means that there is no hope. when there are 40 people holding a fort, 10 people arent going to make a dent.

infact, when i was on the other night, syrtis had a giant (and i mean truely huge) zerg of about 60 people just to take samal. how are we supposed to get samal back when you had the same amount of people at samal as we do total (non WZ ready included).

i didnt take part in helping out alsius but i think that it is a good thing. the two less populated realms rising up against the superrealm.

unfortunatly, i was not part of the ignis "glory days". i have a marksman that was created before the zerg storm (that i hate to play now) and a barb that was created afterwards (hamster of sorrow). so i dont remember the old ignis, but i dont like what ignis is becoming. Many people whine about the tinyest little thing and it gets annoying. but thats not the worst thing.

in the last planned invasion, we went into syrtis, got the forts, beat down the gate, and got the gems without a hitch. we got the gems back but thats when things got all fucked up. Someone had the bright idea to kill tenax (the realm dragon) before invading alsius. anyone with half a brain can figure out that that is a horrible idea. but for some reason everyone (mostly) went along with it and we gave up on alsius.

or when syrtis made our gate vunerable and everyone decided that the damn dragon was more important and that the gelfs could wait. again, common sense says that the previously mentioned decision was a load of crap.

Those were good days. Good days.

Unfortuantely, being in a group of 12, repeatedly being slaughtered by a group of 30+ at Samal, is less fun than an 'oil check', if you catch my drift.

Truth is, we've lost a lot of really good players, and we're definately worse off for it...

OP, your post amounts to nothing more than a text taunt lacking any real points of merit.

I'm really getting amused at how many people equate playing intelligently with cowardice. A glorious death fighting against impossible odds is just a donation of RP to the victor.

True warriors never grind above level 30 and take forts single handedly!!1

If you can't win a battle, don't fight until you can win. Denying your opponent RP is just as important as gaining RP yourself.

well i for one got tired of fighting syrtis, they have horrible gameplay no offense. We were fighting a group of syrtis at pb 10vs 8, in the third round they came back with like 20 ppl, blew us out, we waited at samal and they took meni.... and i personally do not feel like fighting a 20vs 6 fort fight... ( some logged out). This is what syrtis did to us when they had no gems left, just ignore us at herb, were just giving u a little taste of your own medicine.
The way your describing ignis, is pretty much describing the way we felt about syrtis... its just no fun fighting impossible odd's of 20-5, were not here for your amusement, we want to have fun too. I'm sorry i wont show up to your zerged fort so you guys can kill us repeatability but i want to have fun playing this game too, deal with it.

RP are important?
I thought fun is important.

Dieing over and over against a zerg surely is not fun.

Yeah, because RP is such a valid measurement of player skill.

This is the exact thinking that fuels zerg-only fort wars.

And to the OP, Wyatt pretty much summed up my thoughts. Summer is always going to be a more active time period in an MMO than fall.

Edit:
Damn you Maed, and your quick posting!
