Exclamation Packet loss issues, information request.

Hello everyone,

Since last friday the 28th of May, 2010, several players have reported an increase in packet loss (which can be appreciated by typing Alt+p inside the game).

In order to start an investigation along the company that provides the servers, we'd need the following data:

- City and Country.
- Internet Service Provider.

Optional information:

- Time of the day in which the increase in packet loss is observed.
- Trace route report which can be obtained in the following way:

* Execute "cmd" (Windows+R key and then type "cmd")
* Type "tracert www.regnumonline.com.ar"
* Wait for the trace route to finish (This command simply lists all the "hops" every data packet must travel from and to the Regnum Online server)
* Last, copy the screen result by going to the top left icon and choosing "Edit", then "Mark" and finally selecting the area and pressing "Enter". By now, you should have the listing on your clipboard ready to paste..

Please use this same thread to post the information.
Thank you,

Regards,

I live in Peterborough Canada.

My internet service provider is Sympatico, Bell

I do not have any packet loss, I have been checking often. Everytime I check (I try to do every 10mins) I have 0% packet loss, and 150- ping consistently. There has been no change for me since the end of the update.

I know that you were probably looking for information from people with packet loss problems, but just thought it might be helpful to also know someone that has been having no trouble at all.

Any feedback provided is useful, even if you don't have packet loss. We are basically trying to find a pattern to see if the ISP connected to the datacenter routes through a faulty node.

Can you provide the trace route results? Even if it's optional, it would be very helpful.

Gloucester - England.

0 - 70% - with random lag spikes.

ISP - TalkTalk.

Recently, as of the last day or so, it's been better compared to a few days before that when my packet loss are all over the place, some times at 100%.

Country/State: Louisiana, USA
ISP: CMA Cablevision
Time of day: Almost always
Packet loss: 0-56%+
Average ping (without packet loss): 180
Average ping (with packet loss): 250-300 and higher

+ Game randomly freezes completely, giving "Connection problem", and then goes back to normal
+ Game will randomly give "Connection problem" with no lag and completely drop out

The packet loss does not make the game "lag", in the sense that pings rise a large amount, and I don't get stalls or teleporting, like what happens in invasions and with server issues. Rather, the game just feels slow, as if something is just not right.

I don't know how to explain it, but imagine if the game had smooth graphics but slow logic execution.

When I get packet loss in the game pinging the server with windows ping command shows no packet loss, which leads me to believe that the UDP packets the game uses is what is being dropped and not the actual route of my connection, I believe everyone else would find the same thing.

Oh maybe someone else could explain why I have 468ms average in game but only 370ms when I use ping in windows?
