Audio issues with the linux client.
I am running the linux client on a kubuntu 6.10 system (2 of them actually).
I have OpenAL installed and working, but the sound is very choppy. No other apps are running that are hooking the soundcard. Audio properties are set to autodetect the environment. If I hard code the sound system to anything but ALSA, I get an error that I cannot open the sound system when loading the game. ALSA causes the popping too. Any ideas on what I can do? Thanks |

It seems to be a very common problem among linux users. But as you know, the linux client is not officially supported for the time being. This means that the sound problem will be fixed when I have a minute of time
You can help by giving more info about your system, sound card, etc. Regards. |

I have had this problem before... you can solve it by simply instaling libopenal0a and it corresponding -DEV package.
Hope it help you. Regards Zeroena. |
