Red face Dutch School Pupils on Strike

Last week the Dutch secondary school students went on strike because they didn't agree with the 1040 hours they have to have each year. LAKS, Landelijk Actie Komitee Scholieren(National Action Comity Students) said to also strike today last week, but because they made an agreement with the Dutch government they said to wait till Friday because they're talking now. The scholars, who don't watch the news (:P) did strike this morning. Also more than half my class. A report from the Frisian broadcasting company "After half an hour the crowd seems to be disappeared, but at twelve 'o clock they all return from the McDonalds."
The things they know where: 'Free' 'No school!' 'Less school!' At the end the threw with eggs(mainly at themselves) and smashed the window of a toy store.
They were just so pathetic, I had to tell you.

Oooook, if they want less school hours let them have less than 1040 hours per year, but also make sure they get twice the educational level. School is the base for any country.

Think of those people who can't go to school... Then think about us that can post in the breaks or during IT classes and still get high marks on the exams

But the fact is that the most pupils even didn't know what the were striking for and that there is being talked about the problems and listened to LAKS.
The were talking just before 11 'o clock when it began about buying a hotdog and how glad they were to be free.
From what I heard the strike looked very much like the way the targets in the WZ are decided. It was a dumb mass not knowing what to do, until someone stepped a bit to the left and everyone followed him or her. When it started to rain they tried to seek shelter in the parking garage underneath the square(Het Zaailand), and they did after they demolished the red white beams that ensure no one gets in without card, but the police wiped them out.

This just proves that MMOG's are a good social indicator: the same way Syrtis behave, the same way a group of uncoordinated students do. No one was able to take the responsibility or lead the group, they just moved along like a lamb pack.

Maybe the educational system is getting way too old and there's a need to "update" the teachers. You know, you can't just throw a book and pretend the students will read it, you need to keep them interested on the subject and THEN throw them any lecture. School needs to be dynamic, so those 1040 will seem to be less because you enjoy it.

In fact, my school is carrying out an experiment (guess on who?), and bilingual classes are way too much enjoyable because of a very active and dynamic environment. Another example would be using some sort of high tech tools like this [youtube.com], or real-life examples for History lessons: we watched adds and fragments of tv programmes to aid the explanation about society on a given year.

I think that teachers fail to see the "big picture", their subject and them are just one piece on a complete educational system that should be useful for students on the future, and what we expect from future has changed since the last 5 years.

I hope you could understand me... I know I'm not so good at writing long and interesting posts
