Well it counts but it isnt close to the effect of AoO....Then again its an aura while AoO is a self buff...id suggest that you dont put points in them tho...better precise and pasive blocks

AoO is damage resistance, so it's good against high damage and has almost no effect at low damage, heroic presence gives +100% protection(=armor points), so it's bad against high damage, but good against low damage. Heroic is also an aura.
It depends on the weapon your opponent(s) use(is it a slow or a fast weapon?) which spell has the most effect.

AoO is as good vs high damage as vs low damage. It does not matter if a 10 damage hit is reduced to 2 or if a 1000 damage hit is reduced to 200.
Other it is with heroic presence. It just adds armor points. But armor points have almost no impact when hit by high damage hit because it reduces a fixed amount of damage and not a % like AoO is doing.

i suggest that you use heroic presence 5 good while u and ur ally are destroying the fort's door and give u a small defense for 60 seconds without wasting points upgrading a whole discipline to 19 just for 1 skill , and as misacc said blocks
thats all we got too sad |

Wouldn't raise both too as Red already said. There are to many spells around making AoO useless (Ethereal, Soulkeeper, Tear/Break Apart) so its only of use against other mele classes.

The higher your lvl, the better effect you'll get from heroic presence or a spell like evasive tactics for archers, becuase your base armor lvl will be higher. |

well, this sreenshoots show how much armor points actually help: southcross on lvl 50 knight with 2311 armor points: 2994 dmg http://regnum-forum.gamigo.de/attach...9&d=1215539210 southcross on lvl 50 knight with 0 armor points: 3195 dmg http://regnum-forum.gamigo.de/attach...0&d=1215539220 There is a rumor that all armor points above 1000 are useless becaue they don't have any or only very little impact on damage reduction. But this needs further testing I think.

Until NGD gets around to fixing them the blocking skills are blatantly overpowered. |
