Where are honor and grandeur in warzone ?
Hi,
(caution: provoking topic ) All I see in warzone are level 50s hunting down already wounded lower levels, or 45+ teams repeatedly preying on lone ennemies. Where is honor, where is grandeur ? Do you feel proud of your deeds ? Did Alexander The Great achieve his greatness whilst smashing flies on a wall or stomping ants ? Did your courage evaporate when you reached highest levels ? Please self-called 'great' ones, do something challenging enough for you instead of only collecting easy rp. Lead great battles, organize your forces to conquer gems and realms, that is your 'job'. |

The challenging part about hunting is not killing the lonely low level hurted player or the group of low level hurted players, but the challenge is staying alive.

My job is terrorism, kill every enemy and leave nobody standing. If you give somebody the benefit of the doubt you will end up dead. Mercy will only bite you in the ass and leave you regretting it later.

Warzone is a war place. Honor and grandeur are unnecessary options. Eat or be eaten. If u dont have a fang to bite (read: u are too low lvl) - train in inner zone, or expect someone who has already developed it will kill u.

Okay. My buddies and i will wait before your gate and kill you each time you dare to step in warzone Will you still come in ? We will so become great and respected warriors...
Since there is neither dishonor nor consequences to be killed, only aiming to stay alive is no honor. Challenge is the honor and the pleasure in the game. |

My random thoughts on honor in Regnum:
Normally, I kill every opponent I get the chance to. I try to be somewhat honorable when the opportunity arises though. Last year I took my conjurer hunting alone, and found a low-level warrior grinding, near death. I killed him from behind. About 5 minutes later, I found the same guy, again fighting a mob, low on HP. I hit him a couple times, got him near death, then stopped shooting, because there was no point in killing him again. I stopped, he turned, bowed, I bowed back, and went on my way. I left with a good feeling, much nicer than the 5 RP I would have gotten. A few minutes later, he created an Alsius character, logged in, and asked why I didn't kill him. Anyway it was an opportunity to make a friend, and I felt honored that he did this. A couple days ago, a friend and myself knocked a low-level (30 or less) mage from a horse, and got them near death, then stopped attacking. We figured it was somebody new probably wanting to explore, and no big wars were going on. We waved at each other for a minute, prepared to let them go, then they zapped one of us with their staff, so we finished the job. Again, I felt good, because I gave the newcomer a chance to live. On the other hand, I can be a real jerk if pissed off. I was killed most dishonorably by a syrtis barbarian a few weeks ago. I and another Alsius were fighting side by side with some Syrtis, attempting to invade Ignis. Suddenly this syrtis barbarian turns on me and kills me. Well I can say honestly I've killed or helped to kill him more than 50 times since then. He's the first to receive my Death Sentence when he charges in battle, and rarely lives more than 5 seconds after that. Payback's a bitch. |
