Grinding got harder
Grinding has become more difficult for these reasons:
- Archers: reduced armour buffs, nerfed dmg skills (marks). - Warriors: reduced armour buffs, reduced dmg buffs. - mages: reduced area mana. Then there are some general reasons: - crazy mob evades/resists (why haven't these been reduced after so many complaints about it?) - mob skills which render you knocked or stunned, or do too much dmg (rake). Add to this the changes in the xp system and what you have got is a seriously difficult and tedious PvE experience. The last week or so i decided to restart the lvling of my Horus char. TBO i'm finding it painfully dull and frustrating, frequently getting 3 or 4 evades from a mob whilst the boost timer is running, and having to rest far too often. Lvling in a party makes things a lot easier, but there isn't always one available. A good PvE should allow easy solo grinding. Quests at the higher lvls would help alleviate the tedium. Mobs skills need to be rethought - atm it makes them more powerful and difficult to defeat than they should be (all classes should be able to plough through mobs as easy as a SM mage with zarkit is able to - but warriors and archers have to rest far more often). And the persistent high mob evades/resists must go. (P.S. I tried my best here to explain what i feel is a serious problem in the game, and not make it sound too 'whiney') |

[ADVERTISEMENT]Same thoughts here[/ADVERTISEMENT]
[TRUTH]To me its a joke for a RvR game, which is supposed to focus on war, not months of grinding and spending your time, only to find in the end you picked the wrong realm or wrong class. Then you do it again, or on a whole different server, [/TRUTH] [TROLL]It will never be discussed thoroughly, and it never has been. Like I said its just sad, even for a F2P game. It fails it giving at least a minimal experience of what players actually come for, and I personally believe its why Regnum grows so slowly, from which all points lead to the wrong direction NGD takes.[/TROLL] [EMO]Maybe NG3D2.0 is the gleam of light, but right now I've been disappointed enough, it will probably just be more spazzy lag-o-rific graphics that hide the problem even more and continue to sweep problems under the rug.[/EMO] |

Yep, for an RvR game, the PvE is just hilarious.
All we can do is hope that with NG3D2.0 NGD decide to get their act together and come up with a serious, well, not "alternative" but at least something other than mindless hours spent killing the same one or two mobs over and over for months on end.

I mean i did the whole of lvl 45 without boosters(i was skint)....group grinding was excellent, but i could only get it when i could find it.. My is conclusion..that you have to use boosters now to get to 50 because it takes too damn long otherwise! Seriously that whole lvl...i just kept thinking..when did i ever find this fun...im pretty damn sure thats why alot people leave..when they realise actually how much lvling needs to be done. The boosters are a god send..but only for people who can afford them, this might be a f2p game...but its these people who cant get or dont want to get boosters who get fucked over. Tbh if they sorted out...

I always preferred the Elder Scrolls method of progression. How it would work as an mmorpg I don't know.
The thing is though is that grinding is in all on-line RPG's. I personally cant think of one company that is, or has been willing to try something different and this is because of a) Cash shop items. 'If I buy this I will level faster', reasoning. b) On p2p, the next uber item as a drop or quest prize might make levelling quicker. Therefore I will put up with mind numbing boredom based on this faint hope. In short, why would NGD change anything re grinding if people are always willing to buy pots and boosters to make it easier. Also, no matter how exciting they make it, it is still grinding and it will still get longer and longer to level up the higher you go. Metin 2 had nice combat specials and you could, with a Ninja pull in 20 to 30 MOBS in one go and wipe them all out in 3 attacks. Get to level 30, the wall, and it was just as boring as every other game out there as the uber grind kicked in. Personally, I would be happier if they broke up the boredom with some good dungeon quests/sieges and inner realm MOB invasions. More events especially for lower levels who aren't able to go to the warzone would be good as well. |

Agreed on mob evades/resists. I get 4-5 IN A ROW sometimes. And by that time, im usually close to, or already, dead. And then, as i res at save, all my buffs are still in 1/2 cooldown, so more waiting.
Ive also taken to grinding naked, that is, w/o armor or shield, in order to hold down repair costs. My knight uses only a hammer..... a hammer......... and repair costs are STILL over 20k, just to restore like 40 points or so. And recently drops arent' covering it. Add that to whether or not we want to upgrade forts.... and Alsius is looking at a downward spiral. |

This is why I have been going around power leveling noobs, and showing them how to make 150,000-250,000 xp per hour in 2 - 4 person groups. Sure it takes time out of my day, but the more high lvl ignis that learn how to play right the better. Archers can kite the enemy (monsters non ranged will never hit you) Mages can use more mental skills to keep the monster from attacking Warriors.... they have the short end of the stick, unless you get them in a professional leveling party that knows how to gain max grp per person without over killing the enemy. It is possible to earn 10,000 xp per 1min/2mins or more without ximerin scrolls.... If you are in ignis and need help just find me. I will help you.... but in return... I want your soul. |
