First class
I'm downloading the game right now, but im curious, what class should i first start out with, i was reading in another part of the forum everyone saying the melee classes suck and are really hard to train etc, i would rather not make that mistake, unless non of that is true, so can anyone help me choose a good first class to start out with, anyhelp would be apprieciated.

Play what you think you will enjoy the most. There are enough posts here to give you a good idea on what each class does. Based on that, pick one that suits your game play style the most.
Melee isn't necessarily that bad right now. In fact, NGD has stated that they aim to make melee one of the easiest classes to play in this game. Barbs in particular are still a force to be reckoned with.

There are threads all over dedicated to each class.
Melee classes aren't "so" bad really, although they could (and probably will) be better in the future. Both warrior subclasses are ok, I'm guessing you already know barbarians are high damage and knights high defense. Base your choice on how you like to play, and from that choose the best fit class.

Actually, sense the game was done downloading before anyone answered, i chose mage, but now im stuck between conjurer and warlock, either one sounds good, but both have their cons, conjurer has summons and bringing people back to life, but cant do really high damage like a warlock, but a warlock actually can hit really hard, but doesnt have summons and, as far as i know anyway, cant heal, man i really am stuck between, but neither one seems to stick out to me then the other. Any help, whether it is pro and cons, to just plain perspectivness would really help.

Warlocks can steal hp from their enemie, have nice area- and attackspells but a bad defense. And they can steal cojurers summons. |

Think of it this way instead: warlocks is the offensive class and conjurer the supporting class. Therefore, if you feel that you want to kill and deal damage to your opponents: choose the warlock class.
However, if you feel that you will be happy by mostly targeting people in your own realm - and thus, be heavily reliant on them, too - and think you can do good as a support character (that is: no high damage, no summon and mostly buffs/heals/mana and perhaps some CC), then I think you should go for the conjurer. I have seen too many people choose conjurer, get to level 45+ just to realize they are not the support kind of player. The result is someone who doesn't do the support work good, and on the offensive part in most cases are only mediocre. I know a few people disagree with me and consider offensive conjurers (a.k.a. warjurers) to be a valid choice. I disagree with that and would suggest you to go Warlock if you want to deal damage.

Its always most easy to make new friends on a support/healer-char. Thats a truth for any game.

Conjurer is (in spite of the mana borrow nerf) the easiest class to level, but the hardest class to play well. (as a support conju as it's meant to). Your eyes have to be everywhere all the time. You also need an understanding in how the other classes work to know how to support them. I can't honestly recommend marksman anyway. It's OK only up to level 40 or so, then the development curve flattens out and you fall behind. Hunter is for sadists and marksman is for masochists. If you're neither a sadist nor a masochist, don't play archer.
