Well, i use Ubuntu, and i didn't have much of a problem to make it work : in fact when i got it through my firewall it worked "out-of-the-box", and that both with Edgy or Feisty.
What are you using for hardware ? (videocard and X config or driver is pretty often the major problem with games) I'm no expert so your logs don't tell me anything, but look into your drivers too : are you up-to-date ? Do you use open / proprietary drivers ? (And tell a bit if other games work too ) Without more info, i don't think even an Ubuntu expert could help you much Good luck : it's worth it ! |

That's already lots of infos, but i'm sorry i cannot help you further myself :
i don't see the problem in your logs, i don't have ATI card or your config, and cannot help. Try looking in any other thread if not already done : maybe you'll come on something. I hope for you that someone more capable and willing will read this and add his 2 cents... |

i don't know which one is you problem but i have a ati radeon as well and a laptop as well...and i did this small howto..
http://www.regnumonline.com.ar/forum...ead.php?t=6463 try to do like this and maybe it will work... p.s. with the open driver i always had more problems with games than with the official ones.. i know that with the open you can make work the 3D effects...but as you have a ATI and not Nvidia you have (and me as well) to renounce at something |
