Ah you think there is a difference between Democrats and Republican. The Democrats and Republican parties are just distractions. Americans live in a Corporatocratic,Police state. What America calls Democracy ended some time ago. In any case Those who would trade in their freedom for their protection deserve neither. |

I genuinly like Ron Paul even though I disagree with him with just about every word.
But, it is true, that in terms of being a Liberitarian, he is about as close as you get in congress...and he is not afraid to call out members of his own party for not voting thier ideals.

The patriot act. It should be called raping the constitution act instead. I digress...
Anyways this is what I like about Ron Paul. He is willing to say what other only admit in private. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqAF-Alc7CM |

And yet people still ask me why I left occupied Chicago. Here's a free lesson. The U.S. was founded as a Constitutional Republic, not a Democracy. Pure Democracy is akin to two wolves and a sheep voting on what is for dinner. The sheep (the minority) gets screwed in that equation. And while we were never perfect as a nation, we sure put in a good effort, as most of the people (not as a government) try to get along and maintain personal freedom, equality and liberty for all. As of late, that set of values seems to have almost died out. Ron Paul, being pretty old school, kept his original party title and in fact is the only true acting Republican in DC, the rest are all corporate imperialistic Neo-Cons who are too lazy and uncreative to come up with a new party. By the way, where in our U.S. Constitution does it even say anything about parties or the requirement for them in our form and structure of government? It's simply two factions of coalesced power in politics and they have pushed their weight around so much everyone thinks that's how it has to be done. Party politics are for people too lazy to think for themselves. Republicans and Democrats today are both worthless, and looking at the track record in Washington, the American people have been practicing insanity for awhile now, as regardless of who winds up in the White House (and regardless of party), we see the same corporate handouts, the same "social progression" and the same foreign policy (corporate imperialsim). As Einstein said, "The definition of insanity is to repeat the same action and expect different results." But instead of thinking outside of the left-wing/right-wing paradigm, it's easier to stick a label on him and throw him under the bus because it's scary to pull one's head out of the sand and think about things beyond skin deep party affiliations. Ron is one of those guys who wants to change things within the system but knows he's gotta play the game anymore to do it (the Republicat, Demican two sides to the same coin of corruption and tyranny). He authored the Audit the Fed Bill which really forced everyone in Congress to show their true colors. Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled program. A friend pointed me back to this post. I'm in no way "back". I just wanted to give props to Dean for posting this. Dean, not being an American, has an outside perspective and that can be more than most here, and he can see the virtues of someone who actually stands on principles they espouse with action--CONSISTENTLY. my $.02
