Your CPU is very slow for a single-threaded application such as Regnum Online. Perhaps the developers will support multithreading in the future, but for now at only 1GHz you won't be able to run the game very well unless you have a very powerful video card to offload almost all of the work.

I think it's because of this :

Quote:
Card name: Intel(R) HD Graphics
Manufacturer: Intel Corporation
Chip type: Intel(R) HD Graphics (Core i5)
AFAIK it's a GPU built in the CPU, also it's an Intel, which is well known for not being very powerful in term of 3D performance...

You need a dedicated GPU.

Alright, thanks guys. The single-thread limitation could be a prob, but I do have a graphics card. It's an NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M. I can run Crysis, and MW2 on Medium just fine. Also run SC2 on ultra easily

hmm if you have a nv card in your system it is not loading you might try to install drivers for it and disable the one your loading

WTF? Do you even know what you're talking about? RO has been multi-threaded since the new engine patch...

EDIT: Damn Znurre was faster

The graphics engine is multithreaded, yes, however someone (surak?) stated that the game itself probably never will be, as it would require a complete re-write. And the problem is not his graphics, as anyone who looks more closely at that wall of text will see that he has a decent mid-end solution. Regnum does a lot of work on the CPU still even after the graphics engine update, as most Argentenian players (the main audience) have graphics cards 1-2 generations lower than ours on average, but very good processors. Also remember that Regnum tries to offload as much work from the server to the client as possible to reduce lag. However, if anyone else cares to explain and solve the problem, be my guest.

I will go ahead and tell you now, Alienware and Regnum dont get along well.
I own a m17x (huge bloody bastard) works great with every game but regnum, though I do have an ati card. Before I had a nvidia though and I had nearly the same results.
Even though your computer runs the cry engine great, for RO I would suggest toning down to shader 2 and turning off shadows. The only way I can play w/o lag.

Also, Alienware cleverly programmed a way to make your computer run on integrated graphics if you have turned it on only on battery power, or switched it somehow, while the laptop is still on. To fix this and up game performance speed, at start up, go into your bios setting, go to advanced->graphics settings and make sure both Integrated AND Hybrid are enabled.

If that doesn't solve it, try getting new drivers, but please make sure you only use the drivers they give you from the Alienware site or the Dell site, and not from the Nvidia site.

Dont know how long youve had your alienware, but just friendly advice. :]
