Problems with the Windows Installer?
I have downloaded the latest Windows RegnumOnlineInstall.exe from http://dmirror1.regnumonlinegame.com...ineInstall.exe (file size: 940 MB)
When i install it, the Installer extract a data.zip 931.194 KB (909 MB) to my destination folder and extract any other things and install it. After this process, my destination folder e.g. "D:\Regnum Online" is only 419 MB, before i start the game first. Here a picture from the folder: There is only the data0.sdb, but there must be data1.sdb ..... Where are the other 500 MB gone? Why i must download a 940 MB installer? If i start the game, now they must download the missing files (data1.sdb ...). There are over 500 MB of download. And i remember, the data0.sbd was ~1 GB before i have deinstalling RO. Any comments? |

Hiya,
It's a known bug. The installer will be replaced with a completely new one (no more nsis-based) in the next days. Meanwhile, can you try installing in the C: drive?

You're right, I just checked this out too. I use Win7 x64. I have an older version of the installer (1.6.2) and it works fine, however the latest one (1.7.0) won't extract data.zip properly if you run the installer from a non-administrator account. I even tried right-clicking the file and "Run as Administrator", it makes no difference. Installing directly from an administrator account works fine, though.
Meanwhile you can try fixing your installation this way: Extract the data.zip file from the installer (RegnumOnlineInstall.exe). Most modern archive managers should be able to do this, I use 7-zip. Then you can unpack the data.zip file manually into the game's install directory to have the missing data files. The rest of the installation process seems to be fine, so I don't think you need to do anything else... EDIT: Forget the admin account thing, it doesn't seem to work from an admin account either. I must have checked the wrong directory or wrong installer before. Last edited by Narzoul; 04-08-2011 at 03:57 PM. |
