Pets/Summons?

I'm a warrior, but I was wondering if you can just have summons or if you can have pets without being a conjurer. I saw someone with a golem and I overheard someone calling it a pet, so I was wondering if that was just a mistake on their part.

You can with a hunter, but a Knight can't have any pet

the warrior might have been joking when he said that the golem was hit pet.

I used to say in the beta when a aggro mob following me that i had got a pet, it would usually bring out some laughs (i was a marksman), so the warrior was probably just kidding.
