What pets to use and where to find them?

Ok as a hunter, I've had the same damn green beetle for the last 4 levels (lvl 13) so I have a few questions.

1. Where are other tameable creatures my level
2. Does it do any good to put points into your tame creature skills?
3. Any tips on keeping the little bugger alive? I use the skill to increase his evade at level 2 (75 percent) and it's 50/50 he can survive an encounter with a creature that is "normal" to me

First, this thread is wrong here, it needs to be in Beginners Help, maybe the admin can change this.

Then you should search for your questions/answers before you make a new thread.

to 1. and 2. take a look here and here

to 3. I can't say anything about working or non working of the spells (you may try yourself)), but changing dmg-taking between you and your pet will take it alive longer. It's not your personal shield, it just supports you.
