How do you get a mob to fight on your behalf?
I posted a thread a while back assuming NGD had coded mob attacks in a realm biased fashion. I still have my suspicions this is the case - but I could be others initiate mob to fight on it's behalf. Today for example I saw a Wasp Leader attack fort guards at Algaros after greens started attacking.
I see it often too - when critters I have not attacked - that are normally docile suddenly start attacking me or my realm mates in an unprovoked fashion. Eg Ancient or Wild Sabretooths. And as I indicated in that thread I tend to avoid the mobs that are more aggressive giving them a wide berth, so this is NOT a proximity issue - I have played game for a year or so and know how the mobs behave normally. So my question is how do players do this - get a mob to attack an enemy? |

One word: luck.
Exception for pets when hunter is mounting, they can hit randomg player around if they are aggro.

Go near one of these aggressive mobs, but don't attack it. Cast non-damaging spell, like Ambush, on enemy. The mob should switch to enemy.
I didn't try with normal hits or damaging spells, but that one i suggested worked pretty good at Falls with Troll of War, :P Maybe it worked cause opponent was close to me (Ambush range). Need more tests.

also, stone gollems choose the nearest targed once they stand up. so if you're being chased, you can run pass a gollem to make him stand up. once he's up, the guy chasing you is closer to the gollem and the gollem will attack him. however, in both cases the mobs will stay agroed on you somtimes. |
