Ping Rate
Been playing for the game for several months, i was always wondering how i react slow compare to other players in game esp when i played my melee char. Probably i am getting old or something i havent realized. Awhile ago, i started to trace my ping in game and i always have yellow ping.
Just an hour ago, i tried to traceroute the regnumonlinegame.com which i suppose the game server is also hosted by the same provider, the result was attached. The ping is still acceptable to IP 64.212.225.245 but started to increase at IP 64.215.28.18. I did a IP Lookup of 64.215.28.18 and found it is within the netrange, supposedly the same network, i am not an IT expert so i may be wrong. NetRange: 64.212.0.0 - 64.215.255.255 My question is whether this is normal or not, i like to play the game, but the ping issue seems bothering me esp when i play melee class. |

Where is the 180ms jump coming from? You didn't paste the whole thing.
Also it looks like you're gaining an extra 170ms or so within that same network as you said. Is that your ISP? |

The rest of the trace is just my isp traffic from my region to oversea then to 64.212.225.245 which is around 18x ms and i consider that acceptable. Actually the ping within my region is less than 20ms.
The extra ping rate is within 64.212.0.0 to 64.215.255.255 which belongs to this http://www.whoisstuff.net/ip-lookup....n=64.215.28.18 |

I also gain almost 140ms from 64.212.225.245 (Hong Kong) to 64.215.28.18 (New York). Edit: It would appear that you are sea hopping twice to reach the Regnum servers. First to reach the US and the main routing network, and then again to reach Sweden where the servers are hosted. Australian users experience the same thing (AU->US->Sweden) with 500ms ping times. There's nothing you can do until NGD hosts an American server, as the US is traditionally used as a worldwide routing hub. This is because very few links exist to the eastern countries due to their government policies and politics, so you can't go from China->Middle east->Sweden. You instead have to send the signal back across the ocean to the US, then across another ocean to Sweden, crossing the entire world! For more information, see http://www.cablemap.info/. |

I'm living in China right now (but I'm not a Chinese national). My ping is usually around 550ms, which is pretty atrocious for being an effective barbarian. I mean, it's a half second delay. So I've been wondering for the past five years why my connection has been this slow, since I play a couple games with American-based servers that give me around 150ms on average. As far as I know, the distance from China-Sweden and China-USA seems roughly the same. If there's a chance I could move to a server with a better connection, I would do it, but hopefully I can carry over all my toons
