No Payment System Available
I created a Regnum account through the Steam download.
However, when I register my details on the Regnum website, it tells me that there is "No Payment System available for your account/country". I am playing from Canada. I used to play Regnum about 3 years ago, and at that time, had no problem buying Xim. Not sure what the problem is now. |

After investigating this further, I guess I have to buy Xim through Game Samba? I assume they have the publishing contract for Regnum in North America?
I'd rather buy directly from NGD. Game Samba looks like a shady F2P publisher to me. |

Yes, there are regional restrictions on xim purchases, as far as I know you also wouldn't be able to gift xim to someone in a different region. Warmasters left me with a lot of bad feeling towards GS but I wouldn't call them a shady F2P publisher without some evidence to back that claim, they certainly helped with giving RO a much needed boost in revenue to help get it to its current state.
I don't like the regional restrictions and would like to see them lifted as well as different payment options implemented but it makes sense for NGD to sub out the marketing so they can concentrate on development so unless GS goes global I guess we're stuck with it. As a side note I'm very impressed with recent development and so want to buy a good amount of xim but can't because I'm boycotting the only payment system available to me (this isn't the place for a rant about paypal). |

Thrumdi, I am also playing from Steam.
I initially believed I was in the same situation as you, I'm playing from USA, but when I tried to get Xim through the website I was told the same. However, -ingame- you can use the NPCs or keyboard shortcut to purchase premium, and the bottom left corner of that purchasing screen has an option to purchase Xim. That transaction happens through Steam, and though I haven't agreed to it yet (I've got a day left on my starting mount, and that's what I want Xim for to replace when needed), it looked like I could buy Xim in game through Steam easily enough. |
