I'm SO thirsty...
I'm in a bit of a 'dry' spell, fellow Linux users ... I'm one video upgrade of CoR away from having too low a fps rate to play the game. In answer, I'd like to start using shader model 2 instead of 3 or 4, BUT in sm2, I can't see ANY water except the swamp pools (which look like tv snow with some colors blended in). All seas & rivers appear as dried out beds/gulches, no water whatsoever in them. This is problematic at times & potentially dangerous to my characters. I've tried every ingame water setting as well as changing to opengl via vg_d3_d9_force_software_vertices 1, but water eludes me & remains completely hidden in sm2. Any ideas as to what is going on & what, if anything, I can change or tinker with in the game.cfg to remedy this? I used to be able to see water in sm2, but since an 'update' back a few months ago, I can't anymore.

On topic, yes, the 3D engine is a joke now for OpenGL/Linux users since that "update".
Not only now we got even less FPS than before but also less features and more bugs, see my compilation of the NG3D engine issues to have an idea of the current engine issues particularily for OpenGL...
