Low/Mid End:

- Users that have a video card that is not on the high end list should wait until the next version (due Tuesday the 13th, October).

· Posting rules
  • You must specify the used PC hardware settings in one line: Processor, Video Card, RAM Memory, Operating System and if using DirectX or OpenGL.
  • Avoid pointing out simple visual errors. Only if those represent an incorrect functionality such as the disappearing of a whole city or of all the creatures of a zone, etc.
  • Indicate performance problems, crashes and general misfunctionality of the game and the zones where it happens.
  • All questions about the procedure, installation or the new technology must be conducted in the thread for that means. If they are placed in this thread, they will be deleted.
  • Any post that doesn't comply all this rules will be deleted without further notice. Please do not insist, it's necessary to maintain order for us to gather feedback in a reasonable timespan.

· Changes available since test version 2
  • New: Color correction per zone and period of day.
  • Fixed: Miscellaneous fixes.
  • Fixed: Damage notice over character heads.
  • Fixed: Character selection circle.

· Known issues
  • Current version may contain errors of any kind, which is due to the experimental nature of the technology. Under any circumstances this stage represents a final version.
  • OpenGL and DirectX for low/mid-end video cards is not working properly in either Windows nor Linux.
  • Shadow Quality/Resolution is not working properly.
  • Crash while changing View Distance.
  • In certain hours with the sun in the horizon there are shadows that are cast where they shouldn't.
  • Local lights are disabled.
  • The grass may be darkened (illumination issues).

  • Objects that are not being shown correctly (waterfalls, houses, spider cave, etc).
  • Certain waterfall textures have their animation reversed.
  • Some NPC's appear levitating slightly.
  • Most spells are not being seen correctly.
  • Problems when phantoms appear (blending/alpha).
  • Rain weather effect is not working.

Default Small rocks on Kheled's slope cause warp

OS: Arch Linux 64bit
kernel: 2.6.31-zen3
Hardware: AMD Phenom II x3 720 @ 2.8Ghz (stock), 4GB ram
Video: nvidia gtx260, driver-version 185.18.36
Audio subsystem: alsa
X-version: 1.6.3.901

On Kheled's slope, when you walk over one of the small rocks and continue walking, you suddenly drop down from the sky.
This does not seem to happen in frozen lake forest with the same type of rocks

System : AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition @ 3.2GHz/ 2 GB DDR2 RAM / ATI Radeon 4670 running Catalyst 9.9/ Windows XP Pro 32 bit SP3/ Direct3D

First up the beta works with this card and is stable for the most part.
Open areas I can attain up to 130FPS ( up to 200FPS shadows disabled) and about 37-57 near structures.

The Desert areas have a very short draw distance and somewhat dark .The green areas are fine as far as the distance and illumination is concerned. Altaruk in city has very short draw distance but entering Medenet and Allahed is fine . FPS rarely drops below 27FPS anywhere (All video setting max). Other players please note the draw distance slider is still not working.

EDIT: I saw this at night but midday draw distance is fine. Maybe supposed to work that way? Either way at night /dawn draw distance for desert/ grassy areas seems not in sync.

One big issue I found is that switching between the client and another program either causes RO to crash or "sticks" leaving a blank screen. This blank screen cannot be over come wit Ctrl-Alt-Delete or other methods. I waited and eventually RO released and allowed me control again (takes about 3 mins to release).
In this case which happens most times , RO may not crash right away but will run at 1 or 2 FPS then crash.
This problem occurs anywhere in the world. Another odd side effect is that it causes my desktop wallpaper to disappear. A reboot solves that.

Several spell animations work well .

If I disable shadows over water the reflections remain static and are not updated. As I move the reflections remain as a snapshot as I was when I disabled it and move around as I look around.
To replicate this simply go near water and disable shadows then turn character view.

Ghosts invisible, some Mobs like hyena and the mag rocks float a little but I see no sliding for my character, pos glitch seems much reduced, there is some random choppiness when moving even though fps reports high.

Last things; I notice the in game CPU% drops way down when I switch away to another program (45%) with a 1FPS but seems to struggle when recovering as I switch back. This usually ends in a crash if I am away from the client for more than 3 minutes. Less than that usually results in no crash.

When recovered the usage is 100% flat out all the time. The first beta actually constantly moved between 91% to 100% and the strain usually settled at 96-98%
A look at my System CPU meter shows that minimising the game window drops my CPU usage down to about 4% and while game is running it averages 57%.

NGD, This is excellent work so far. Graphics are breathtaking and the engine seems to be heading in the right direction. Good job.

Regards
Artec

Problem: there is half of sphere around my char that blocks view, except when looking above it. Sphere has green and red part, with moon on it's bottom. It also produces kind of fog and other color mixing. Shiny object is save.
