Non-RA build I put together, but I still see RA as a must have, even after the nerf.

Well, dont get me wrong, but these seem bad to me.

IMHO, i the only valid reason to drop recharged is to get arrows not to 19, i.e. to get high SB or 19 LB. Because if you do so, those 5 PP are worth it anytime, even when you only use it selectively.

The first build seems very vary and not thought out to me, i dont see a specific aim of the build. YOu should always have a specific role or style in mind when making a build because youll want to polish it to be most effective for what you want to do.
  • I see alot of PP dumped into concentration and dex (Crit and spell focus), these boost your normal hit's damage. Nonsense to me if you dont get recharged to get competitive normals, esp. considering you rely heavily on spell damage. Dex you might want for higher LS, i dont consider that worth the PP though.
  • You dont get your defenses up to the max while havingg eva maxed out, for just 2 PP you get enormous difference due to stacking, doesnt make sense to me to leave that out.
  • You get high escapist and Hc reduction, this seems a nice combo, however i suggest to get dodge lvl1 for reliable evasion. Its just 1 PP and has great effect stacked on escapist.
  • I suggest to get LP(1), esp considering your low on CC to get out of bad situations

The seems more polished on the first look, however it also lacks a a specific "use" or "aim" for me aswell, but its a little more clear. However:You get several damage/dps boosts while going spell heavy. Youll end up bad in both departments. If you still decide to try such hybrid, maximize better, you could dump DF to lvl1 and get lightness to lvl1, you could try to get maneuver, id actually get maneuver4 over spec4 in this case.
  • Note: Getting specialist while leaving our recharged is kind of a waste. Even lvl1 RA will gove more damage then lvl4 spec. But youll not have the mana drain to support your spell heavy setup, however leaving out Arcana Strike while going spell heavy is bad, its a great damage spell, esp vs barbs, you just need to be good at mana management. I consider it worth better then Serpent at the current state of the game.

Also, keep in mind both builds wont allow you to get lvl11 WM Tree, which youll not want to leave out when you become WM. You need exactly 90 DP to get to lvl 11 in WM tree.

Just a few thoughts, dont take it personal or anything please I appreciate any ideas about mixing up Marks cookie cutter builds so keep em coming!

The build I posted isn't one I would ever use. Only posted it because to my understanding the OP wanted a non-RA setup.
My normal builds are set for max normal hits and max range (although I don't play max ranged all the time, it is nice to have for runners).

this is what i'd consider a nice marks setup for a lvl.60, even tho no tricks this is soley dmg output mixed with range. ambush2+ss 1 for those warrior fights, and incase a resist, lp(2) to get out. Also threw in lvl.3 lightning for chases as well as warrior rushes.

http://trainer.claninquisition.org/t...fsuLFfaduafaFf - and without RA just get serpent/arcana

A role better suited to hunters, I would go as far as suggesting rolling one because it seems like it would suit you far better.

I would suggest you focus more on CC and debuffs than damage. You wont win any PvP's with this setup but you could be helpful to your team. Dropping escapist to 1 and removing all the points in Wits could free up 6 points for you. You don't need to put escapist any higher than 1 imho.

Get rid of sentinel and use those points on retaliation rather. Also spells like ambush, stun fist and dirty fighting are good to have. I'm not sure how effective Finesse is.

Using Seeking strike is a nice idea for a supportive marksman (never seen one of those before) but I would suggest you get at least 1 point into Break Apart for the ability to stack constitution debuffs. Omnipresent? Drop it rather. Sticky Touch is nice to use on enemy barbarians although its not a commonly used spell, I still quite like it. I always find mobility to be a good spell to have and caltrop's arrow could be worth investing into for your role.

However I wouldn't recommend playing a marksman without recharged arrows. I wish you luck with the build you're working on. By the way nice character names.

I agree with what's said above, seems like you're trying to fit a hunter role to a class that's not (entirely) suited for it.
Rerolling a hunter might be a better idea if not for all the grinding... Besides, there are also still "knarbs" around who seem to enjoy themselves, so hopefully you'll find something that does work for RA-less marks ("harks", "munters", uhm...).

my setup:

I try to be all-round and with maxed out cc's, i don't care what other people think about that, a ws 5 can save someone's life, same with a ds 5.

Especially when they are knocked

Eh, _Enio_ and Shwish are right.

Concentration is a little unknown to people. The only usefulness I've found is to build a Critical Hit Chance Setup.
For Lethal Strike, I like to buff to my maximum then cast it for maximum chance of effect. You have only Manuever to accompany that.
Recharged Arrows is still a vital spell for Marksmen. If you suffer from it greatly then drop it to 4 or 3. I do sometimes play without RA on, but I always include it.
No Ambush is interesting, still a vital spell nonetheless the range.
Finesse; Finesse is a decent spell. However, it does not work alone. You need to have more powerpoints sink to make Finesse work.
I used to get Wits, but really, it isn't that worth it. I heard it's better to get Mana items as they regenerate your mana more efficiently.

I am mostly repeating the stuff said already.
Anyway if you want a Critical hit chance setup here's the link for a little guidance.
