Do you use Son of Wind?

Very simple question for hunters and marksmen.

Do you use Son of Wind? Feel free to give your reasons to why you use it or not but please avoid saying those who use it are cowards or those who don't use it are fools who choose to ignore its tactical advantages etc.

I'm simply curious to know how many archers actually use it, and if they are in the majority as I suspect.

Just a small note: I don't use SoW. If I was to use it I have to either sacrifice range or power, and neither is an attractive option to me. Even if I could max one more discipline I would rather have Tricks instead.

Yet another small note: For all non-archers out there, please learn to recognize when an archer is using SoW (the archer will have rings up and down his/her body, the archer will resist most spells and be able to evade most attacks). This is so I don't have to keep telling people to ignore the SoW user and concentrate on other targets. For all enemies out there, I hope you'll be ignorant of it and keep targeting our archers who use SoW

I am the first to respond to this thread....

Currently I do not use son of wind.... reason = high mana cost...
I can escape and return to kill with just camoflauge and moblility why waste all my mana for 15 seconds of visible maddness?

you can still cast spells on peopel with son of wind.. so dont disregard them... you need to know the timing... there is a window a ticker that allows you to hit... learn this and that spell wont matter...

you say you dont use it because you dont want to sacrifice range.... or power.....
I only use short bow so already i have no range... still I dont care for son of wind... max evasion i will ever need is 13 <shrugs>

I've always thought that it's simply a matter of getting a very high evade and resist chance. This window of opportunity thing is news to me. Either way, you'll still end up spending a lot of time and attention on one single archer when you could help your mates kill some other bloke in a large fight. In 1vs1, this information might help if it's true, but I rather take cover or use Low Profile to wait out SoW's duration.

a) because of the mana cost
b) because i have to buy all that useless stuff under evasion to get it

I don't use SoW, I need stuff for other things. I'm a true case hunter and love having a pet - some may thing it a down fall but I like them. So for me to have my pets, tricks, scouting, evasion is the LAST thing on my mind.

Yea, me too. I am already confused enough, I want scouting, pets and shortbow full + tricks to lvl 15, something what is impossible. I can't max evasion too.

I've max evasion but because of the protections (acrobatic and spell elude, both work like a charm) and movility that has served me well.

SoW is expensive and usefull only at lvl 5.

PS: im a marksman.
