Help! Can't get past choose realm page!

Like the title says. I logged in just fine. Watched the beginning video just fine then when I went to choose my realm I clicked on Syrtis(The one I wanted to start with) and it just sat there and did nothing. Actually, my entire computer froze with it.

I am running on Windows XP. I have a ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9000 IGP for my video card. I have 1GB of RAM. I turned off my windows firewall to use this and I have no other firewalls. I only use AVG for my anti-virus so its not a third party program that I can think off.

Anyone able to think why I can't get past this screen? I really wanted to start playing this game too

EDIT: I was able to get past the choose realm page by changing renders to OpenGL. However, once past there some of the button's I was not able to click on. Like gender, face, ect ect. Until the end when everything kinda "mushed" together when I clicked the back button to the realm page and I had a character sitting in the middle of the page and my computer crashed..... =(
