New Player, Regnumonline.exe dl

I was really looking forward to trying this game out. Been looking for one for a long time that I could get into and this one had promise.

Anyhow the updater just downloads Regnumonline.exe over and over again. I know that other people have had this problem and I have searched all the forum posts and none of hte solutions have worked for me (reinstalling, reinstalling in a different location, removing the live server folder) Nothing seems to work.

I'm running Windows XP SP2.

If anybody has any new idea's on how to get it to work I'd love to hear them...I'd really like to give this game a shot but as is right now looks like I'll be quitting before I even got to play.

* Just noticed that the version on my launcher is 0.9.25 but the site doesn't even mention a new version being out (from .24) however I also noticed that all the servers are down except for the test server....are they currently updating the real servers and since the update isn't done on their end I'm having this problem?*

Right now the servers are down for maitenance/updates. I don't know if that would cuase your problem or not, but wait for them to come back up and give it another try.

Good luck and don't give up, it's a great game!

Bah...still not working =/ I'm not sure what else to try. It may just be a lost cause

I've now tried downloading the install from different sites...the same problem persists. It downloads teh 2380k file over and over again.

One curious thing is that every maybe 10th attempt it will say "cannot connect NULL hostname:giving up" or something very similar to that (can't get it to do it again so that's from memory). Maybe that has something to do with it?

I really wanna play this game....any help would really be appreciated from either NGD or the community.

Again, Windows XP, SP2

It's some firewall blocking the replacement of RegnumOnline.exe.

Just go to this folder:

"c:\Program Files\NGD Studios\Regnum Online\"

and delete RegnumOnline.exe

then execute RegnumOnlineOld.exe

and voilá... it should download the 2380k file once.

That doesn't work because oldregnumonline.exe get's overwritten so fast that I can't cancel out the updater to open it.

I've now also tried forwarding all the ports I've found throughout the forums and still it doesn't work. It just keeps dling the 2380k regnumonline.exe file.

I really wan't to get this game working arg, I've tried everything though and I'm about to give up.

My router is linksys. I have updated firmware, tried fowarding ports...reinstalling the game, installing from a different game install download. I've tried reinstalling outside the programfiles (even though I'm not using vista). I've tried removing the liveserver folder....nothing at all works.

Should I just give up?
