Default Why the Doom style controls?

So this game has no side-step, No free camera, no look up or look down. So I have to always look with a level view? tbh its less then doom controls because I can't turn with the mouse. Is there a Patch or mod that fixes this?

Look up or down and turn your camera around by holding down the right mouse button...

And strafing would ruin the game, because some classes rely on certain important tactics

but strafing is a tactic. and why only some of the classes? Now days It is a Basic tactic in almost every game. How would it ruin the game. Please give me an example of what you mean so better understand

If you want to move to the side, you currently have to turn your char around and run that direction. Hunters take advantage of the fact that you take a while to turn so that they can just run behind your back and you have to keep turning around to hit them.

But this has been stated by MegriM to be an undesired feature, still waiting for something that will prohibit archers from doing this, especially hunters with their passive speed.
There nothing more annoying than hunter with mobility or escapist abusing this tactic to the max.
To some extent it even works against worriors now, which really suck! but still far more deadly to warlocks.

We are removing any undesired behavior that the users were using as NORMAL combat and adding more strategy to it.

In half an hour several users will be at the combat tests for balance and tweaking. Anyone that wants to participate is invited. The forums are not adecuate for what can only be tested in pvp combat.
