Default Computer hesitates after playing regnum

After I am finished playing regnum, my computer hesitates ever few seconds. The mouse freezes, sound freezes or glitches as well as video. it freezes only for a second. Has anybody had this problem and or know how to fix it? I'm using Windows XP. Everything returns to normal after I restart the computer.

Hi Snaaky,

Regnum still has a few memory leaks that haven't been fixed. These are most likely due to oversights made during the development of the game, although I don't know if there has been an official statement on the matter.

Regardless, with all of your memory in use while you play the game, this causes your Operating System to "swap" all background programs and services out to the slow hard disk to make more room, so when you are finished playing the game those programs and services must then be reloaded from the disk one by one.

This is completely normal, just more common with Regnum than other games (due to the aformentioned leaks), and the best way to deal with it is just to give your computer time to finish swapping before using it.

The entire process can take up to 5 minutes or more if you have very little memory (256MB or similar).

Hope this helps.

Regards.

My computer generally gets slower and slower while I play Regnum. When I exit the game, my computer performs sluggishly until I restart. I'm not sure what is wrong. I'm thinking it might be hardware related (maybe dirt and grime or general wear and tear).

My system:

OS: Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon
3.0 Ghz Pentium D
2Gigs DDR2 Ram
512MB Nvidia 6600

Cool Not a memory issue I don't think

The computer UI actually pauses ever few seconds. So, if I move the mouse continuously across the screen it will stop and start, stop and start. this same thing happens when I watch youtube videos. They will freeze every few seconds and then continue playing. This starts to happen immediately after clicking on the regnum icon. My computer will continue doing this until I reboot. Anyhow, this problem does not present itself in game. Any Ideas?
