Default Weapon damage bonsuses

Many weapons have a damage modifier in addition to their base damage. For example, a bow might deal 40-58 dmg, and have a +10 damage modifier listed above it.

Does this mean the weapon actually deals 50-68 points of damage?

If so, is the first range before modifiers based on the "normal" version of the weapon?

In a perfect world where armor was 0, that weapon could do damages in that range to include criticals. The extra damage modifiers can come in the form of a xymerald bow (the uber of bows) and/or bonus damage in form of physical or elemental damage. It is important to have multiple bows in your arsenal so that you can switch depending on the type of target you are attacking. Some damage types do more damage then others.
