Translations of the names used in RO

I got intrigued by the meaning of the names chosen by NGD when I saw the labels Syrtis Major and Syrtis Minor on one of the maps of the Roman Empire at school.

I looked the meaning of some words up in our Latin dictionary. If you find the meanings of other names, even though not Latin, please share them too.

Alsius: cold, numb with cold
Ignis: fire
Regnum: kingdom, power
Syrtis: name of two sandbanks off the coast of North-Africa; Syrtis Major lies East of Tripoli, Syrtis Minor lies West of Tripoli.
Tenax: Scroogy
Vesper: evening, the Eveningstar(don't know the proper English translation for this)

Alasthor is a metal band from Belgium.

Aggersborg is the largest of Denmark's former Viking ring castles

Similar with Trelleborg - a fishing town

I think "Imperia" is the latin origin of the word "Empire"

Regnum means "Reino" in Spanish, which can be translated as Kingdom. Vespertino, in Spanish is something like "at dusk time". Tenax is "tenaz", and that can be translated as tenacious.

Well most of the names are pretty obvious and they have simple logic :P

There is actually an AMAZING job by NGD on this matter. Maybe not every player know this, but even the names of the NPC are in Quenya language or are taken from Nordic mythology.

I look forward to read more of this thread, because there are some things I am sure I did not notice yet.
