Maybe linux is not enough for playing Regnum. It 100% works on GNU/Linux

(GNU/Linux is a nonexistent notion, there is linux kerner or linux distibution, but linux was never part of the GNU).

GNU/Linux is the name of the operating system while Linux is only the kernel. In fact almost everything is GNU, except for that monolithic kernel. Distribution is something different.

It means GNU with Linux.

Back on topic: it works like a charm. I'm running Debian Lenny with Enlightenment DR17 without any problems.

You need video graphics with acceleration (i.e.: 3D rendering, a normal nvidia or ati card). You can check that doing:

glxinfo | grep -i direct

Glxinfo dumps a lot of information, grep is just to "cut" the output to the useful information.

Download the binary, give it execution rights (right click, properties and look for something like "execute this file as a program"). You can also do "chmod +x file" in a console if you like :P

Duble click it, install it and run it. It will take a time to update the game.

There's a comprehensive list of known problems in the Spanish subfora, but don't worry, some members speak both English and Spanish (like me :P). Just ask! Feel free to use the search button too... Most of the problems are well documented.

Smooth here too. Running PCLinxOS 2007 with an ATI Radeon X1600 256Mb card with the latest native ATI driver package.

You may have to grab the OpenAL sound libraries from your repository though, that was the only bump I hit, but after a quick install of those using Synaptic and a restart of the game, everything is roses.

If you have not curved hands, which grow from right place, then you can play Regnum under Linux. Of course, your comp should satisfy requirements.
