strength attribute
I was hoping someone may be able to quickly and in laymans terms' explain to me the effect of the strength attribute.
for example what positive effect/bonus would say having a +5 strength item have on a character? i know obviously it boosts his strength rating, and the description says stronger attacks and higher load weight, but by how much (using the +5 example)

1 point of str gives 3 kg higher maximum carry weight and seems to give 2 - 3 damage to a warrior's base attack.

Just to add, no use for archer if you think it ll boost his damage. Well it used to be like that.

thanks all for the info,
and well ive sorta mothballed my hunter for the moment, playing as my knight. so i was of course wondering whether or not str would be a useful type of bonus, or just stick with the usual "boost the primary attribute of your class above all else" method.

Knights get 1.125, 1.5 or 1.875 damage/str depending on weapon speed. It also increases hit chance and spell focus. But its safe to say that warriors have the weakest main attribute since archer also boost evasion, mages increase resist and mana and warriors only increase their weight limit. The 5 points will only add about 9.4 damage / hit with a slow weapon so i think its not bad option to go with constitution (about 110-113 health?) or maybe concentration for better critical hit chance along with spell focus and hit chance. |

I thought it was conts, for more hp and higher resists to knocks, or is this a universal attribute?
im curious mainly about this question for 2 reasons. 1 is i was going to make a barb then decided id rather be a sexy knight after of course having spent my points on str. i figured i could make up for that with a single item and not be at such a disatvantage (in my case a +5 conts shield and alot more conts/strength items i cannot use yet because of level requirement. what is better for knight? str or conts? consider my laying style, i do not care about mass hp, but anythng that can help my attacks do more damage, since im mostly defensive, so when i hit it needs to be worthwhile having trudged through enemy ranks to do so. confused and loving it thanks for clearing it up somewhat for this sometmes slow, insomniac girl addicted to regnum
