Default installation problem?

I downloaded the new install software today and after three tries I get the same problem: the file "data5.idx" won't load and it asks me to abort, retry, or ignore. retry doesn't work and if I hit ignore, the game gets as far as updating but no comes up with a an error screen (14001?) and shuts down the game. Anything that can resolve this or is it just me?
