Unhappy Can't patch?

I've been trying since I got my new laptop to install Regnum Online... I have a desktop but I never downloaded it on that computer because I was never really interested until now. Anyways, now I've got a computer that should be able to run this game pretty well but everytime I install it/reinstall it, when I run the game and it starts to auto-patch, it gets almost to the point of completion before it stops, crashes, and tell me there was an error:

"There was an error patching the game"

I hit the "OK" prompt, then this pops up:

Execution of command '.\RegnumOnline.exe (blah blah blah) live_eng SELFUPDATE' failed. (error 2: the system cannot find the file specified.)

Can anyone explain this to me or provide some kind of solution? The game patches to different numbers each time for the most part, sometimes making all the way to 1230/1255 kb, other times only into the mid 1100's, but always in that range. Help. Please. :-)

I'm having the same problem... it must not be a problem with firewall since it starts patching, but I have no idea why it never finishes
a lot of people seems to have this same problem e no one tells us how to solve

Ive tried patching many times and it just won't fininsh...help please

Hi
Did you download latest game installer from website of game?
Did you configure firewall, like Kailer showed here? (pay attention on Windows built in Firewall, too)
Do you have Antivirus that might block some files?
Did you try to delete Live Server folder and start game again?

Hey guys,

Adding to what my friend Anpu said, please make sure to do the following just in case:

You need to allow traffic to the following ports:
- TCP protocol: 48000, 48001, 47300, 80
- UDP protocol: 9660

Nice point. I must add, that normally no change is necessary for these ports to work.
maybe some software firewall is blocking all activity from regnum aplication?

In other case, unless you are behind a strong firewall (like some companies use for their workers) or you home network instalation was made by a paranoic admin (who must be contacted to solve the problem) the network traffic for Regnum Client should be ok.
